"Don't Give Me Up..."
Come on skinny love just last the year,
Pour a little salt we were never here,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my...
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer.Just because Han had threatened to leave, Leia didn't think he'd actually... walk out. She wasn't expecting the raw emotions that she'd be assaulted by when she realised that he wouldn't be returning with a smirk and half-hearted attempt at apologising, the type she'd always laugh at.
She didn't think, that maybe, he had always wanted to leave. She didn't know how to feel anymore. Her Han wouldn't leave her questioning everything like this...
Was he still her Han, after all that had happened?
Tell my love to wreck it all,
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my...
Right in the moment this order's tall.It was silly, really. It had all started with Han being reckless. It was all his fault.
No it wasn't.
Leia couldn't lie to herself. It her fault. She had used her status to send him on the mission. She was to blame for the mess. What had she been thinking? The usually-composed princess/general was trying not to cry there and then. Everything seemed so bleak, but she had brought it on herself.
And I told you to be patient,
And I told you to be fine,
And I told you to be balanced,
And I told you to be kind,
And in the morning I'll be with you,
But it will be a different kind,
'Cause I'll be holding all the tickets,
And you'll be owning all the fines."FORCE'S SAKE, HAN!" Leia shouted, glaring ferociously at Han, who looked like he wanted to say something, "You couldn't have been more careful? I shouldn't never chosen you! Not for this, anyway! You're too untrustworthy!"
Han looked like he'd been slapped across the. The smuggler, for once, looked at a loss for words. Leia angry wasn't new, neither was Leia being angry at him a new development, but...
"YOU COULD'VE CAUSED SO MANY DEATHS!"
"But I didn't!" Han countered, suddenly angry. She was pinning all of this on him, when she knew full well that it was definitely not his fault.
Come on skinny love, what happened here?
Suckle on the hope in light brassieres,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my...
Sullen load is full, so slow on the split.Han slammed a small object down on a table as he stormed out. The door slammed to a shut behind him and Leia stood there, shaking and uncertain of herself. She slowly made her way to the table and opened the box.
Her eyes widened and she threw the box as far away as possible like it was going to poison her.
A ring sat innocently by the wall.
And I told you to be patient,
And I told you to be fine,
And I told you to be balanced,
And I told you to be kind,
And now all your love is wasted,
Then who the hell was I?
'Cause now I'm breaking at the bridges,
And at the end of all your lights.Leia had since forgiven Han for his leaving. He'd come back after many years of running and trying to forget. She still felt powerless, vulnerable against her own feelings and thoughts.
Han felt a different kind of sad. A remorseful, abandoned kind of sad that gnawed away at him and wore his resolve down to a thin sheet of regret and hesitation.
Nobody mentioned the ring.
Nobody mentioned the shift in dynamic.
Who will love you?
Who will fight?
And who will fall far behind?Leia wasn't there. She didn't see the shock in Han's eyes as it happened. She didn't see the conflict written all over her son's face.
Yet she felt it.
How she felt it. The pain was worse than being gutted by a lightsaber. Her heart imploded and her rationality vacuumed into a never ending black hole of 'why'. Why did it have to be him? After everything.
Being rescued from the Death Star, blowing up the Death Star, then rescuing him from Jabba the Hutt and, to top it all off, helping destroy the Death Star once and for all.
What for?
What was the point if he wouldn't be there in the end?
Why? Why him? Why was it always him?
All too late for Leia and Han, she realised something.
She'd always love him.
And, by the force, was she paying the price.Come on skinny love,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my...
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my.
