The Belief System

Chapter 2 "Like Hell I Would..."

     "DUDE?? KNOCK IT OFF!!! HEY!!!" There was a loud yell from the kitchen. Kai bolted through the door in nothing but his underwear, " What's wrong?!?! What the hell is going-" Kai's face went concerned, to blank . It was Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Chen playing "고스탑" (Go-Stop). Kai's hands turned to fists and he began to shake in anger, "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???" The "Beagle-Line" looked up from their game in what was a mix of fear and shock. "Really Kai? What's your deal?" Chen laughed.

     Kai approached the line sitting at the round red table centered in the room. Kai turned his head and exhaled, "Do you guys know what time it is?" "Yeah...it's 9am..." A low voice spoke followed by a familiar, cold hand rested on Kai's shoulder. Kai turned. It was Kris. "Is that any way to talk to your hyungs?" "Mind you goddamn business, Duck Butt..."

     Sehun, who hears the chaos downstairs, quickly rushes in and grabbed Kai's arm and pulls him into another room. Sehun looks at Kai who is heavily breathing and is clearly exhausted, "Kai..." Kai unable to withstand the adrenaline any longer drops, to his knees, sobbing. Sehun unsure of what to do picks him up and brings him to their bedroom upstairs.

     The smell of bacon and eggs fills the kitchen. Luhan and Xiumin are in the living room talking about coffee and "Growl", The Beagle-Line continues to play cards, Kris, Tao and Lay are watching C-Dramas while D.O is helping Suho in the kitchen.

     "Hey Kyungsoo, can you call everyone in here? Breakfast is done." D.O, who is finishing the last few eggs, glares at Suho. Suho slightly leans away, "Fine then." He turns to the boys playing cards, "Enough games kiddos, go get the others for breakfast." Baekhyun picked up the cards and put them away, "Sure thing!" He turns his was toward the room where everyone else is in, "GUYS!!!! SUHO HYUNG FINISHED BREAKFAST!!!!"

    Within a blink of an eye, all the members were crowded around the table awaiting their meal.

     Suho began setting the dishes as Sehun walked in, "Morning guys. I apologize for Kai, he...had a rough night. He'll be down soon." Suho nodded, "Okay, thanks. We'll save him some." Sehun took his place at the table ensuring to have grabbed a plate for Kai. He place it next to him.

     Ten minutes pass before Kai walks in. All eyes turn to look at him. Kai glares at all of them, disgusted, "What the hell are you looking at?" He takes his seat next to Sehun. Under the table, Sehun is holding Kai's hand on Kai's leg. Kai starts to relax, "I'm sorry about this morning. I just got very little sleep last night so I'm a bit irritable." Chen laughs, "Aren't you always irritable??" Kai was about to explode but calmed as Sehun's hand caressed his thigh, "It just worsens I guess. You know, it's kinda like Kris." They all laugh.

     Sehun and Kai look and smile at each other. Chanyeol notices, "Well that's new!" They immediately stop. Kai concerned and slightly startled responds, "Wha...what's new?" Chanyeol shook his head, "Oh, nothing." He looks at Sehun who immediately turns red. Kai notices and he becomes concerned. He nudges Sehun which makes him smile.

     Suddenly, the table gets quiet. Scared, Baekhyun speaks, "Kai, Sehun..." Both of their faces widen in shock. "What were you guy actually doing last night?" He looks at Kai, "Kai isn't one to stay up late nights." He turns to Sehun, "And Sehun only stays late with someone if he-" Baekhyun's face drops, "Sehun...please tell m-" Sehun cuts him off, "Baekhyun, please..." Kai feels the anxiety in Sehun's hand. Kai purposely drops his fork and bends down to grab it and kisses Sehun's hand. Sehun swallows. Kris shook his head, "This gay ass faggot..." Before Sehun could react, Kai releases Sehun's hand and slams both of his hands on the table, startling everyone, "Who are you calling a gay ass faggot, you dumbass?!?!?!" Luhan in shock, questions, "But we only say that because you first called him that." Kai defensively responds, "Like HELL I would call such a fucking charming, sweet, sensible guy a gay ass mother fucking faggot?!?! YOU GET THAT?!?!?!" Everyone, in shock, sat in silence. Sehun, looked up, surprised, "Kai, please..." Kai looked down at Sehun, who was on the verge of tears. He then looked up to find everyone staring at him in silence. Suho too shocked to speak, makes out, "Jongin..." Kai looks at him, the Beagle line, Luhan, Xiumin, D.O, Kris, Lay, Tao then swallowed before looking back down at Sehun. Sehun looked desperately at him. Sehun then blinked once, shedding a single tear. Fearful, Kai runs out of the kitchen, up the stair to his room and slams the door. Everyone's attention turns to Sehun who breaks down, head in his hands. And for the rest of the morning they just sit in silence...
