Chapter One

Mia's POV

It was the last week of summer and I've been laying in bed , crying , tissues everywhere . I've been heartbroken before but this one was the worst . Adam was his name . We've been together for 2 years now , knowing eachother since we were in diapers . But I always had a feeling that he was hiding something from me right before junior year ended . And I was right .

Right before our 3 year mark , I caught him banging my best friend . But it's whatever . She was a shitty best friend anyways so I didn't really care about her . With Adam though , he was my everything . He was my boyfriend , he was my best friend , he was my partner in crime , and so on . It sounds so cheesy but it was the truth . I don't understand what I did so wrong to get this .

Since it was the last week of summer though , I finally decided to get up and go to the mall even though I didn't want to face anybody . I knew that I'd see a few friends of mine but all they're gonna do is ask if I'm alright . People have been blowing up my phone and calling me , asking if I'm alright . I only answered a few texts and just left them to read on the rest . But asking me in person is just gonna get me pissed to be honest .

I looked at the time and it was around 12pm and that was plenty of time for me to make myself look presentable . I hopped into the shower , got out , dried myself , put on my favorite bralette with my black high wasted shorts then put a kimono on . I then put on some make up to hide my puffy eyes and put on my combat boots . I looked into the mirror one last time , giving myself a weak smile and telling myself I can do this before grabbing my wallet , making sure I had everything I needed in there .

I finally went outside , getting into the car , putting the keys in , and putting on some 5sos . I listen to all types of genres of music but I was kinda feeling 5sos at the moment . The mall was about 10 minutes and there was barely any traffic so I got there really quick .

As I got out , the hot sun poored down on my skin . I could barely see so I took out my Dior sunglasses that I got from Adam for my 17th birthday and wore them . I really didn't like that they were from Adam now that I thought about it but he told me he saved up for a little while just to get me them so I should use them instead of wasting his money . Plus they were really nice and I loved them so I couldn't just put them aside and never touch them again .

Today was like a shopping spree for me so I just went to every store that I love . I went to Forever 21 , Topshop , Missguided , Urban Outfitters , H&M , Wetseal , Pacsun , Abercrombie , Nike , Adidas , Victoria's Secret , etc . I finally decided to also get some Lush products and I also needed some new makeup . I was actually glad and surprised that I didn't see anybody I knew here after I got out of Ulta . When I was finally ready to leave , I got an Instagram notification , notifying me that Adam has posted a picture . Me being the curious person I was ,  I opened up the app and saw something I couldn't believe with my own fucking eyes . It was my ex best friend , Natalie kissing Adam . The caption was "I love you baby girl , happy one month !! @natalierogers"

I felt hurt but at the same time I felt like I shouldn't care because they're just really low . As I was about to lock my phone and put it back into my pocket , I bumped into somebody very hard and muscular . "Omg , I'm so sorry , my clumsy self wasn't paying attention" I finally looked and god damn , was he hot . "It's all good beautiful , my names Jack Gilinsky , how about you ?" I had the urge to studded but I finally made it . "Mia . Mia Clifford . " "Well Mia , nice to meet you and I hate to say this but I have to go since I'm meeting up with some friends . Hope to see you around again . Bye !"
