4 years later
Your 12 now. You live in a world filled with vampires ruling everyone and everything and them looking at humans like cattle.
Ever since the incident, you never really talked that much. You were usually a talkative kid back then, but that's the past and a lot has changed since.
Luckily though, you being quite most of times had its disadvantages. You weren't noticed by vampires when they took the kids to have there blood taken. You most of the times just hid. But this also got you in a lot of trouble, as in you getting horribly punished when getting caught. Most of the punishes were just getting beaten, but vampires were seven times stronger then humans so there was a lot of agony. But you getting caught rarely happens.
You being quite meant you didn't have a lot of people to talk too, but usually you don't see most people laughing with a group of friends- you actually never saw anyone laugh anymore. Yet you did have this one friend. He was really sweat and nice. His name was Aaron and he was a couple years younger then you. You both were taken into the same helicopter when being brought here. The both of you didn't talk when you first met each other. He was put next to you on the helicopter and even though there wasn't talking, once you and him saw each other, there seemed to be an unspoken understanding. I'f Thant makes sense.
When you first started talking to each other he explained that he was in an orphanage but the director had died, but he was still with the group of children from the orphanage. You were glad he had someone he could rely on. He did want to introduce you to them but you denied many of times. You thought you would make a fool of yourself somehow.
You were walking around, thinking of nothing in particular. You new this was the time were the vampires would be talking everyone to get their blood, but you didn't really care right now, you had something on your mind that was bothering you
"(Y/N)!" You heard someone shout, breaking you out of your train of thought. You turned around to find Aaron running toward you with something in his hand. " (Y/N), look what I found! I found-" you glared at him and put your finger to your mouth signaling him to be quite. Aaron quickly met up to you and saying sorry between pants. "But...but look what I found!" Aaron said softer, enthusiasm in his voice. He pointed to his his hand that had multiple pieces of paper. "....what are they?" You said with hesitation and confusion while taking the paper from him. "Well, um, I'm not really sure, there in a different language but I thought you would like-" "wait, be quite." You said putting a hand on Aaron's shoulder. You looked around noticing the vampires In robes were directing people to the building to have their blood taken.
You stiffened and started to panic. You didn't want to leave Aaron behind to go hide but you didn't want to risk having him get caught if you took him to hide with you. Before you could make a final decision, someone had grabbed your arm, making you flinch. "Hurry up, we don't have all day to waste." Warned a vampire with a white cape covering somewhat of his face. Aaron gasped in surprise and covered his mouth. "It's a blood sucker." He softly mumbled between his hands.
"Keep it moving, cattle ." The vampire warned, shoving you forwards. You clenched your your jaw, pulling your arm away from the vampires grasp.
"Don't touch me..." You mumbled, gently putting your hand on Aaron's shoulder, quickly leading him into the building.
"(Y/N), why didn't you say something to the man?!" Aaron shouted at you, with a sad expression on his face. "There wasn't a point," You said, not looking at Aaron. "If I disrespected him, he could have hurt us both and-" "you still should have said something!" Aaron exclaimed. "You would have back talked him if I wasn't around..." He said with disappointment.
"Aaron." You said, looking at him with no expression. "What?" He pouted. "Stop wanting to get in trouble." You sighed, flicking Aaron's forehead and walked ahead of him. "Hey!" He shouted.
"Keep your voice down, you'll get us in trouble." You explained, putting your hands behind your head, continuing to walk.
"(Y/N)!" Aaron said with annoyance and anger in his voice that actually shocked you. You turned around to look at Aaron. "Wha-" you began but was quickly interrupted. "Stop treating me like I'm useless. I can take care of my self. If you always baby I'm not gonna get anywhere." Aaron said, trying not to raise his voice. "Where is this coming from?" You frowned. This wasn't like Aaron. He never got mad or annoyed.
"I didn't mean to make you feel like your not needed," you said softly reaching out to him but he quickly stepped back.
"And you need to start taking care of yourself! You don't think I don't know you always get beat when you're caught hiding from getting your blood taken? I'm not stupid! You can't hide your bruises, stupid"
You looked at Aaron, taken back by his words and your ears quickly turning red. "We'll talk about this later!" He shouted and grabbed your wrist, dragging you to get both of your blood taken. You left the building entrance, having your arm on your neck to where the needle was intend into your skin. It always made you feel sick when your blood was taken and the food the vampires gave you to "help" you didn't help you at all. You went down the steps with your hands in your pockets trying not to throw up. "(Y/N)" you heard Aaron shout. You looked in front of you to see the small brown haired boy storming up to you.
"Aaron, I'm really sorry I-" " I know how I can take care of you!" Aaron interrupted you. ".....I'm sorry, what?" You said in confusion. "I know that some kids are giving there blood directly to a Seventh Progenitor for fresh food and nice things! Um I don't remember his name... Fred... Feral?".
Your blood shot cold and your heart stopped beating.
"....Ferid." You whispered, clenching your hands into fist. "Ya, that's it!" Aaron said with excitement. " So...."
You looked at Aaron that quickly maid him stop talking and looked down, playing with his hands.
"Aaron," you began. "Do not...do NOT tell me you told that bastard you would give him your blood!" You shouted tightening your fist. "I-I thought it would b-be a good...idea. Mika from my orphanage was doing it." Aaron said below a whisper, not making eye contact with you.
Before you could say anymore, you could hear footsteps from behind, slowly coming near Aaron and you. It wasn't like most of the vampires footsteps with white capes, heavy and loud. These footsteps where soft and slow, making the hair on your neck stand.
"What is it?" Aaron whispered. You grabbed Aaron's hand and began to quickly walk the opposite way of the footsteps. 'Nononononono' you thought. 'It's not him.' Your pace began to become quicker. "I'm not going to let them hurt him'. "(Y/N), please stop, your hurting my hand and your walking to fast." Aaron wined. You started to run, faster and faster not worrying about your surroundings, still holding onto Aaron's hand. "(Y/N)!" Aaron said in panic, but before you could look back at him, you bumped into something and fell to the ground.
"My,my! Why would you two be running for?" A man said "you act like there's something to run from." The man said with a taunting and gleeful manner.
You looked up to see a tall slender man with a long silver hair that reached his hips that was tide back into a ponytail with a red ribbon. He didn't have the simple whit caped covering his face. Instead,he had attire composed of several components, including a suit, a long coat, thigh high boots and a cape to compliment the the mans appearance.
You tried to speak up but nothing came out.
"Feral!" Aaron quickly said from behind, trying to get the tension off from you.
"Ferid" the man quickly corrected, with a welcoming smile.
"Right," Aaron said quietly. "W-Well I'm ready to go to your castle! I'm sorry I kept your waiting" Aaron said with a nervous tone in his voice.
"Great!" Ferid said, clapping his hands together.
"NO!" You screamed, quickly getting up from the ground and standing in between Aaron and the seventh progenitor.
It took you a few minutes to realize what you had done so suddenly, and both of your checks became quickly flustered. "I-I mean," you cleared your throat. "Aaron won't be giving you any blood!" You said, trying not to make eye contact with Ferid.
"But the boy had made an agreement with me, he won't break it, will he? That would be horribly rude" Ferid said, smiling a wicked grin at you and Aaron. "N-No!" You quickly said. "I'll take his place!" You said, without actually thinking on what you had said. "Oh?" He questioned leaning toward you. He held the tip of your chin, leaning your head slightly back examining your neck, then quickly standing up strait, full with excitement. "All right! That's fine with me. Shall we get going?" Ferid said. You nodded and looked back at Aaron, who was looking as if he was on verge of tears. You mouthed the words "sorry" and "go to your family".
Aaron stepped backed and began running away, tears streaming down his face, back to his home, where his family would take care of him and wouldn't hurt him like you always manage to do.-----------------------
