Elizabeth Taylor and David O'Connor never thought they would adopt another child. They adopted a total of ten children, they were all boys. They had five children of their own, making that a total of fifteen kids. Now, they decided the family needed a new addition, this time, they will chose a girl.
*Alicia*
I hate this waking up early in the morning and getting dressed for
the same 'ol adoption day routine.
Honestly, I don't even know why I'm
struggling into my blue jeans and straightening my hair. Half the time people who come to adopt usually pick a boy or an infant, they never adopt teenage girls, never.Ms.Bailey, our caretaker, checks our name off the roaster to make sure we made it on time. Those who didn't
received intense physical punishment after the visiting hour is over.I hate this place. If my parents didn't
drive off to dinner that night, they would have been alive today, but they
aren't. I guess they were in such a hurry, they didn't tell me. Instead, they took my younger sister, Lucia, and went out to dinner. The thing is, they never made it to the restaurant.Their car was hit from the side by a garbage truck that ran a red light, the car flipped over and ignited into
flames. My family was roasted, they surely couldn't survive that crash."Alicia Summers," Ms.Bailey snaps. A frown arched on her young face, she's around her mid-thirties.
"Yes ma'am," I stood up straight and proud, she always snapped if we slumped and had a poor posture.
"Pack your things, you are getting adopted." She says. As I was leaving to pack my suitcase, I swear she had a slight smile on her face but it quickly disappeared once she noticed I was staring.

"Okay, Mr. O'Connor. You are all set," Ms.Bailey says, stacking the adoption papers into a neat pile on her mahogany desk.

The drive to the house was awfully awkward, the parents tried to make small talk with me but I shrugged them off. Not because I was being rude, I was afraid. I was afraid that if I start gaining their trust and feeling safe towards this family that I will forget about my own family. The one I used to have.
Each time I take small glances at Mr.O'Connor, I see my father. The way the corner of his eyes crinkle when he laughs, the way he points to things when he tries to explain it, hell, even the way he laughs reminds me of my father.
"We're here!" They cheer, stepping out the expensive shining black car. My jaw fall as I take in the mansion before me. This is no house.
They carried my suitcase into the house and called for someone to bring them up to my room, I only had two luggage bags. One was filled with clothes and the other was taken with random appliances and accessories.
"Are you guys, like, um..." I start to say, trying to find the right word to describe them without offending them.
"...rich?" Ms.O'Connor answers for me, I nod and shrug my shoulders, "If that's what you want to call it," she laughs.
Two blonde guys appear from around the corner, I barely notice we are still standing near the front entrance. There's a golden chandelier hanging on the ceiling above us, decorated with white diamonds and light blue crystals.
"Meet Blake and Logan, they are the oldest of the boys," The two blondes smile, introducing themselves. Logan had gray eyes while Blake eyes were green.
"We're 25 if you were wondering," Logan smiles, probably debating whether of not to ruffle my hair. It took me an hour to get this baby down, he should know better.
"Cool, uh, can you show me my room, please." I ask no one in particular, Blake volunteers and we run up stairs.
There's a total of six bedrooms up here, he stops at the bedroom that doesn't have a nametag and opens the peach colored door. Holy...
This room is bigger than my old room, hell, this room is probably bigger than the room back at my old house combined with the orphanage room.
"Its big huh?" He smirks, sitting on the queen sized bed that laid in the middle of the room. The walls were painted a shade of light purple and there was two dressers, a big one against the left wall and a small one near the bedside.
The doors to the wardrobe are gigantic, literally. They look like giant doors waiting for an elf or something. I slide open the doors and nearly lose my eyes. This room can be used as a bedroom, talking about bedrooms I need to go shopping for clothes when I get the chance.
"Are you done fantasizing?" Blake yawns, his long built body stretched across my bed. I roll my eyes and leave the room.

So, The O'Connors are having some kind of family meeting or something.
They want me to meet all of the guys, I still can't believe I'm the only girl living in a house filled with guys. Other than Ms.O'Connor that is."Ok, kids! Kids, stop running around and find a seat somewhere on the floor," Ms.O'Connor command to the little boys running around in hero capes.
"Ok, I want to welcome a new addition to the O'Connor family, meet Alicia everyone!"
Everyone starts to clap and cheer, I suddenly feel embarrassed and shy, mostly nervous. What if they don't accept them, no, what if they are just pretending to be nice but once the parents turn their backs they bully me?
I know I'm talking nonsense but that happened before. Four years ago when the accident happened, I was thirteen at the time. This family with five kids volunteered to adopt me, three girls and two guys. They bullied me every chance they got. One day when the adoption service lady came by, she noticed I had a black eye and a bruise upper lip. She reported the incident immediately but she needed more evidence then my cuts and bruises.
I stayed there for three more weeks before Ms.Betty (the adoption service lady) had enough evidence to take me out and bring the family to court for abuse and child neglect. When she found me I was laying conscious in the living room, I had a swollen temple.
I remember that day clearly, everything that happened. Justice and Jamie were around my age, they were also the youngest of them all. Justice was always in charge and Jamie (boy) always followed her lead. This one day they were actually being nice to ask if I wanted to play softball in their backyard. I agreed, during the game, Justice 'accidentally' swung the bat at my head and I fell to the ground. At first I was twitching and my head was aching then I felt nothing. My vision blurred and I was laying in darkness...
I felt cold thin fingers pushing me toward the crowd, I turn around to see Blake pushing me. I scowl at him and he sends a smile my way.
"Hey," I awkwardly wave and smile. They stop cheering & clapping and just stare at me. See, they dislike me already, "um... I..."
"Henry, Grant, and James should be here any minute now," The mother says, her brown hair neatly combined in a high bun. Blake explained to me how they actually had kids, including him being one of them. They wanted to adopt other children because they felt like were able to handle the adulthood life, hahaha. I can barely watch an eight year old without throwing a couch pillow at them.
