DEMETRE'S POV-
I walked down a long hallway, with blinding bright white lights. I felt as if I was becoming color blind due to the fact that I'm surrounded by nothing but plain white walls, that feel as if they are closing in on me.I kept walking and finally made it to a door. A frosted door, so I couldn't see what was on the other side until I open it. When I opened the door, the AC hit me, and I walked to the front desk. There sat a woman with blonde hair in a white corporate button down shirt, with a pin that read "Malinia Wright".
"You're late again. How...disappointing that is," She said.
"So what, I'm here aren't I?"
Malinia then threw my time sheet on the floor along with a bunch of other papers.
"What are you on? Just because you didn't get none last night from your husband, doesn't mean you get to test me, stupid bitch!"
"Say another fucking word Demetre and I swear I will call security, have your card revoked, and make sure you talk to Mr.G himself. You understand you fucking brat I wil-"
"You will what ?" Mr.G said as he walked to the front desk and Malina went silent.
"Trouble again I see , Mr.Mortayga," Mr.G stated and I could see Malina smirking in the corner of my eye.
"Sir, I was just trying to clock in and she had the nerve to throw my the papers all over the office! How is she not being han-"
"That's enough Mr.Mortayga, you have been late more then once this week."
"But sir, it's not fai-"
"Mr.Mortayga...."
"Ok , I get it"
"Meet me in my office will you, I have some business to discuss with you, and Ms.Wright... clean this mess up," Mr.G said smoothly and Malina nodded.
"But sir he had the nerve to call me out of my name and just walk in here an-"
"I don't have time for this nonsense, now clean it up or your kids won't be having Christmas this year, you understand?"
"Y-Yes, Mr.G," Malina stuttered and I snickered.
"Good, Demetre come along," Mr.G said, walking away and I followed him.
"Yes sir"
As me and Mr.G walked into the office, I flipped off Malina, I hate that bitch so much since she was always taking her marriage issues out of me. Like how is that my fault?
Mr.G typed in the security code to unlock the door and the door slid open. We both walked in and Mr.G pointed at the seat in front of his desk for me to sit in.
"Demetre, what I'm about to tell you can not be repeated anywhere else of there will be consequences," Mr.G stated with a serious tone and I nodded.
"We've been trying to observe the outside world with hidden cameras, but we think it'd be better if we had an inside source go out there and obtain information. Why do we need this information, you ask? The society beyond our city's walls are under suspicion for spying on us and we need to be sure if they are," Mr.G said and I just sat there listening.
"The people that live beyond our city's walls are known to corrupt minds by manipulating and brainwashing them. Their society's government is similar to ours so it is hard to tell who is associated with them," Mr.G continued and I sat there waiting for him to tell me what that had to do with me.
"Your job is to fly out there on a plane and observe their society. We have a tracking device in your wrist so if you suddenly side with them, we will know exactly where you are and take you out. Don't even bother trying to remove the tracking device since it is under a vein so if you cut it out, you'll bleed to death. Avoid that by staying loyal to our services, so you understand?" Mr.G asked and I nodded.
"Good, don't bother packing because at the location we're sending you, there are the supplies you need and so fourth. Any questions?"
"Just one, when will I be departing?"
"Right after this meeting," Mr.G said and my expression slightly faltered from short notice.
"Alright, you will communicate with us through an ear piece that you talk into," Mr.G said, handing me the ear piece and I placed it in my ear.
"Don't fail us Demetre, our society's fate rests on your shoulders and the results from this mission," Mr.G said, adding more pressure onto me.
"And one more thing Demetre, don't get distracted from the mission, we appreciate your sacrifice and please be careful," Mr.G said, shaking my hand and I saluted him.
I walked out of the room and to the lobby where the pilot for my plane was waiting. He led me outside to a small plane that I immediately a boarded.
I took in the back near a window where I could see the view.
"Take off in approximately 2 minutes," the pilot said over the loud speaker and I took the time to think about how I was going to complete my mission.
2 minutes passed by quickly and next thing I know, the plane was in the sky and I could see the clouds from the window.
For the first hour of the flight, everything was fine and I closed my eyes. I drifted off into sleep until I heard beeping, causing my eyes to flutter open. The plane was suddenly going down and I unbuckled my seatbelt, running to where the pilot was. The pilot was holding his heart and I assumed he was having a heart attack.
Oh god Demetre, don't panic. Remember the training and emergency skills you learned.
By the time I looked at the pilot again, he was already dead with his eyes still open. I unbuckled his seat belt and struggled to pick him up since he was at least 400 pounds. After finally getting him up, I threw him into the passengers seat and sat down in his seat.
I tried pulling he plane up but it was not working, the plane was about to crash into the ground so I looked around desperately for a parachute bag. I found a case that said 'EMERGENCY' and pulled it open, revealing a a parachute. I grabbed the backpack and pull it on, running back towards the window and kicking it.
The glass broke and air pressure sucked me into the sky just as the plane crashed into the ground. I pulled the parachute, but it wasn't working, fuck I'm going to die.
I closed my eyes and accepted my death.
