I was in the midst of walking out of 7th hour Geography with Zayn when he speaks up. "So, wanna hang for a bit before practice?" I was about to accept his offer when I remembered I had to meet Jules.
"Can't. I already told Jules I would hang out with her and Ryan." We got to the front doors of the school when we went our separate ways. I sent a quick text to Jules.
A: Meet at my house.
J: We'll be there in a few.xI make my quick journey home and see Ryan's SUV sitting in my driveway. I quickly sit in the backseat, and we head out. It's a quiet journey.
"Where are we going?" I ask after about 10 minutes of driving.
"You'll see." I saw Ryan smirk from behind the wheel. "Trust us, you'll love it." I scoff and look out the window thinking. What if they're just using my brother and I? What if all they want is information on Amelia? On Frederick? Or what if they want to know more about us? About what it's really like to be vampires. Most people only know about vampires what they see on tv. They describe us as awful monsters who only think about blood and killing. That's not one hundred percent true. Yes, we do think about blood, but a majority of us still have our humanity. We want to live normal lives, or as normal as we can with the curse we have.
"We're here." I look up and see a forest in front of us. I get out of the car and look around. There's a giant forest, an open patch of land, a dirt road, and a big batch of nothingness.
"And where is here exactly?" I raise an eyebrow wanting answers.
"You have no clue where we are, do you?" Ryan asked. I cross my arms and he continues. "Come on, we'll show you the real reason we came here." I follow them into the forest, and we stop walking about twenty minutes later. I look around, and all I see is a big rock in front of us, and a bunch of trees surrounding us.
"Oh, I get it! You brought me here to kill me." I accused with a hint of sarcasm. They chuckled a bit, then Jules spoke up.
"Okay Amber. Before we explain anything, we need you to move this rock."
"I'm sorry?" I don't understand.
"We need you to move this rock. Just trust us Amber. You'll want to see what's inside." Ryan spoke up. I cautiously made my way to the giant rock. I put both hands on it, and pushed with all my strength. It slowly moved to the right, and once it cleared a path to inside whatever they were supposed to show me, I looked over and they looked impressed. "So you really are a Silversteen."
"Did you expect anything less?" I'm confused. Did my last name not prove anything? Of course I'm a Silversteen.
"What my brother is trying to say, the rock is enchanted. Only a Silversteen or a strong witch could move this rock." Jules explained. She walked past me, and into the territory the rock was protecting.
"How do you know about this place?" I asked with curiosity.
"Amelia took us here once. She said that Frederick showed her a long time ago. That is was very important to him, and so was she, etc. I guess he wanted to show her his "special hiding place" ." She used her fingers to make quotation marks. I stopped dead in my tracks when she said my brothers name.
"Okay, two questions. One, what the hell do you mean this is Frederick's special place?"
"You'll see Amber. Trust us." I gave them a skeptical look, and went onto my next question.
"Two, you said you came here with Amelia. But you also said that only a Silversteen or a powerful witch could move that rock. Last I checked Amelia wasn't a Silversteen."
