Lauren closed her laptop. The amount of time that she spent looking at photos of her and Joey had carried her into the early morning. It pained her to look back at Apocalyptour, where his arm would be around her as they smiled for the cameras. It wasn't an act, but it also wasn't genuine.

Her iPhone buzzed on the couch next to her, startling her. He tweeted. If she was being honest, Lauren still hadn't turned off Joey's notifications since the day he left for Los Angeles. He was ranting about brunch was just breakfast at a later time. Typical Joey twitter antics.

Lauren smiled weakly, tapping the reply button. She reluctantly apprehended the reality of why she couldn't bear to respond.

She couldn't take falling for him. She couldn't convince herself that she was okay when he'd meet girls in LA. She couldn't pretend she was able to piece her heart back together time and time again.

'It takes everything in me not to call you. But every time I don't, I almost do.'
