Is He Worth It? A Broken Promise

*FOUR*

I was purely terrified.
What if's bombed my thoughts, and none of them were good.
I was listening to the 7th murder case Lee was telling. This one was sad.
Lee started," Kim Williamson, murdered at 1:00 A.M. She was 17, in 12th grade, very sweet, tons if friends. She had four siblings, and a-"
He stopped himself, he was on the verge of crying. I said sympathetically," Oh Lee, it's okay..."
I rubbed his back and he choked," She, she was pregnant."
My eyes widened and I felt the prices click together. He continued, wiping his nose," Her parents were mad and angry at themselves because she died running away from her parents. First, the killer stabbed her in the stomach over and over again, about 100 times. Then, they cut her throat, extremely deep. They did the same, 50 cuts on each arm, poems, quotes, words about dying, murder. But-"
He sobbed, and I hugged him.
He choked," O-on her forehead. It s-said-"
He took a deep, shaky breath," The baby was a mistake."
He looked me in the eye," Your mistake, Lee."
I had tears in my eyes. It was a horrible story. Lee's eyes were red, his whole face red from crying. I whispered," Lee, I'm sorry for your loss-"
I stopped, then corrected myself," Losses."
He nodded," Thank you."
I asked, well whispered kind fully," What was she like?"
He smiled," She was gorgeous, the most wonderful girl I ever met. I would've gave her anything, gave up anything, do anything, just for her.
"She was the sweetest person I ever met. We first met at an a.m coffee shop. It was my first month of college, I was studying for a test. She was walking by when I man rudely bumped into her, making her spill her hot coffee on both me and my notes.
"She apologized nearly 100 times, and she even offered to rewrite my notes. But when our eyes met, I feel in love with her. I never met someone with such gorgeous eyes, they were stormy grey with blue around the pupil.
"She said she'd do anything for me, and she thought I was absolutely insane by what I said. I asked her to help me study. It was the last thing she expected, she expected something like an outburst. But, yes, she studied with me, and surprisingly, I made an 100 on the test.
"We hung out a lot ever since then, and about our first month of knowing each other, I asked her out on a date. She gushed with excitement, and said yes. I was in love with her, fully aware of it too.
"After about fifteen dates, I asked her out in the sweetest thing I could think of. I took her to the beach. We swam, splashed water at each other, made out, but I felt desire rise up in me.
"She instantly said yes, and I was heaving with love, and I finally said it. I told her I loved her. The last thing I expected was for her to say it back. I didn't think she felt that way for me.
"On our 2 month anniversary, I told her I wanted more. So, we romantically had sex. It turns out, the condom broke, and what had happened was done.
"She took a pregnancy test, and it answered positive. She took five others, they all answered positive. But she didn't want to take yes for an answer.
"She went to the doctor, and they confirmed it, she was pregnant. She cried in my arms for days. She was only 17, I was 19. Her parents were against teen pregnancy, so she hated herself.
"She told her parents, and they went ballistic. Her dad threatened me and her mom went off on her about how foolish she was acting. She told me that I was a disappointment and that night, she tried to run away.
"She called me saying that she was coming to my house, and I told her to come on over. But, little did I know that a crazy lunatic was going to brutally murder her and kill my baby."
He was a hot mess. Crying and a red face, I've never seen someone cry so much. It was very sad, and very crazy. I couldn't even believe it.
He added," I never even knew the gender, but I always teased her in how it was going to be a girl, when she wanted a boy so badly.... We even had the names set out. Kylie Ann Johnson and Jacobs Houston Johnson."
Then I gasped and Lee nodded," Yep, Kim is Houston's step-daughter."
I was shocked. Now I know how I hit a nerve with Houston. I feel so guilty....
He said," You remind me of her. She always comforted me by rubbing my back, and you have her precious brown hair. But there's one thing I could never find in anyone else that she had."
I looked at him, and finished," Her eyes."
He nodded, new tears streaming down his cheeks. He wiped them away and said," Well, anyway, I'm going to clean up. If you need anything else, I'll be right back."
I nodded, and he went back down for a bit.
It's sad that someone did this to these people, especially to Kim... And Lee.
