A musky scent floated through the chilly autumn air. A cluster of orange, red and yellow leaves dances and spun in the air. A soft smile played at your lips as your gaze turned upward at the horizon. The colors were like a warm artist's pallet, the colors of the paint all flowing and mixing together in a somewhat organized chaos.

The skyline faded from a bright blue to a deeper apricot, the color of champagne spilling all around and within the bright sun. You sighed in contentment, burying your fists in the pockets of your coat as you walked home.

Your fingers played with the wool lining of the pockets, the stiff chill slowly but surely melting away from your joints. You felt your veins and heart buzz with anticipation as you neared your apartment, you couldn't wait to see your boyfriend, Gajeel.

The two of your are powerful mages in the Fairy Tail guild, and there was nothing you two loved to relish in more than the satisfaction of a job well done. Well, that and the peculiar yet wonderful scent of a handful of jewels.

You're the type to take jobs that were hard and fast, get in and get out then onto the next task. Gajeel, however, didn't mind taking jobs they may go on for a week or more, as long as he could keep things interesting and not be compelled to leave out of boredom.

Both of you were tight on money, but after months of working your fingers to the bone and only ever seeing each other once in a blue moon, you were finally financially stable, and even had extra spending money.

You eventually decided to move into an apartment together and alternated between paying the rent month to month. Neither one of you had ever fallen short or made a payment late for the past 5 months. This made you happy, not only to see how responsible your boyfriend could be (when he wanted to), but that now you two would have a more... "Alone time."

A shiver crawled up your spine—from the bite of the cold or recollection of how smooth and hot Gajeel's skin is you did not know. All you knew was that your walking pace had quickened, to either escape one or run to the other... Or both.

Your hands reluctantly left the warmth of your pockets to fumble with your key ring. You eventually shoved the key into the lock and hastily turned the knob. Stepping inside, you then scrambled to get the door shut and locked behind you to keep the warmth from escaping and the cold entering.

A sigh passed through your lips, you unzipped your coat and hung it on a nearby rack. You rolled your shoulders and neck, your joints crackling and popping to each stretch. You stopped, still facing the door.

The house was unsettlingly quiet and still. Your senses are so acute you were able to feel if the furniture was even an inch out of place, but you didn't feel anything was out of order. Before you could even fully part your lips to call your lover's name, you felt something rush you from behind.

Your muscles tensed and you flinched, but a pair of beefy, toned arms coiled around you and kept you in place. You felt a dangerous cocktail of your magic power and adrenaline buzz through your veins. Your captivator chuckled deeply, the familiar sound and deep vibrations through his chest sent your body as ease.
