I ran for my dear life as if my life depended on it, and it actually did. My wolf Liza kept telling me,' Keep going keep going' or ' Run faster'. It would be a lot more easier if I was in my wolf form.

I hid behind a tree as the huge wolf sniffed around for my scent. Oh dear moon goddess I ask and beg of you to help me before this huge wolf kills me. I turned back around to see that the wolf was no longer there. Phew maybe he found another track of footsteps.

I was about to walk away from the tree until I heard a growl. I stood there frozen and gulped. Come on stupid legs run! I turned around and saw the wolf grinning at me. How in the hell is he grinning? That is just straight up creepy.

That grin made shivers go down my spine and to be honest I don't know why. I saw him looking like he was about run but instead he launched himself at me. I ran as fast as my short legs would carry me. I looked back and he was still chasing me.

Can't he cut me a break? Me being clumsy tripped over a tree branch. I tried to get up but that wolf thing jumped on my back and pushed me down. As I went down I hit my head on a rock and it knocked me out cold.

Oh moon goddess please don't let this be the way I die. I mean I haven't even found my mate yet.

        12 hours earlier.
Today is my 17th birthday and I can't wait to see what my mom and dad got for me. I walked downstairs and my parents screamed," Surprise!" I smiled, " Thank you guys so much". I hugged them.

My dad squeezed me tighter, " Oh my little girl is growing up". I rolled my eyes, " Daaad". They both let go," Happy birthday Addy". I sat down at the table," Are you excited that you might find your mate?" My mom asked me, I shrugged.

" A little I just hope he's not a total tool". My mother laughed," I hope not either or else they'll have something coming". I ate the waffles my mom put in front of me.

After I was done I put my dish in the sink. I got my book bag and waved goodbye. My dad said goodbye as my mom blew kisses. As usual. I rode my moped to school and met Katie. She wrapped an arm around me," Hey birthday girl here's your present." I smiled and opened it. It was lingerie," Katie!!" I slapped her arm. " What!? You might need it when you and your mate get down and dirty."

She winked at me as I rolled my eyes. We walked to our class and I saw Finn sitting on a desk. I've had the hugest crush on Finn ever since 4th grade, but in the past 8 years he's never once noticed me.

I'd only be lucky enough to have him as a mate. I sat down next to Katie and she nudged me in my side. My head snapped towards her." Talk to him". I shook my head no," I can't especially if I might find my mate today." She sighed," Your loss."

We stopped talking when the bell rang. I honestly can't wait until I find my mate.

Time Skip
When school was over I rode my moped home and made my way to the front door. I was about to open it but I had a sudden feeling as if I was being watched. I turned around but all I could see was the trees in the woods.

I shrugged my shoulders, maybe I'm just being paranoid. I walked in my room and saw a present on my bed. It said Dear Addy, I can't believe your growing up. I hope when you find your mate he will be just as good to you as your father is to me. Open this gift and see what's inside. We wish you the best on your birthday.

I stopped reading to open the box. It was a dress and it was so beautiful. I've never seen a dress this beautiful in my whole life. I put it up to me and looked at it in the mirror. I squealed, this dress is perfect.

I walked downstairs and saw my mom making dinner. I smiled at her," Thank you for my birthday present". She chuckled, " Anything for you". I saw the beta Peter come in," The alpha said he would like to speak with you Luna". She sighed and wiped her hands on her apron.

She looked at me," Watch the food would you, I'll be right back". I nodded as she left. I looked to see was she was making and it was shrimp pasta. Mmmm my favorite. I heard the door open and I saw Finn come in aka the betas son.

He looked at me and smirked,I gulped. My heartbeat started to quicken." Where's the Luna and Alpha?" I talked so quietly someone who was close enough wouldn't have heard what I said." In the study". He walked closer," Huh?"

I talked up louder," In the study". He smiled," Thanks sweetheart". When he called me sweetheart I felt butterflies in my stomach.

He's has never talked to me, why start now? Does he like me? No way. I'm not on his level of hotness. Maybe he does. I slapped a hand over my forehead. Gosh I need to stop thinking about Finn.

That's when I heard a loud crash outside. I looked out the window and saw a huge wolf ripping one of my pack members head off. I screamed," Mom! Dad!" They came running out of the study," R-rogues". I pointed at the window. My dad looked out the window.

My dad looked at my mom," That's no rouge that's a lycan". Lycan? Lycan?! This can't be real. I thought they were nothing but a myth.

My mom grabbed my arm," Mom what's going on?" She kept dragging me to some place," We need to keep you safe". It turns out she took me into the cellar where most of the rogues were imprisoned. But luckily there were none down there.

She sat me down on a rag." You must stay in here Addison until someone gets you". I started to cry," B-but why need to help you guys."

She used her Alpha female tone," No you will not leave this cellar until someone gets you". She put both hands on my shoulders," Your are the future of this pack or all that will be left of it, please you need to stay here". I nodded and sobbed. She kissed my forehead. I watched as she walked the stairs and closed the steel door.

It was very quite down here and wet. I used my werewolf hearing to hear what was going on. I heard the screams of children and slashing of flesh. But then I heard Katie fighting. She kept grunting and screaming battle cries. But that's when I heard the sound of slashing flesh. I screamed," Katie!!"

I ran upstairs and went outside. I saw men and women fighting for there lives. But then I saw Katie on the ground bleeding out.

She started coughing up blood. I ran towards her and grabbed her hand. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes," Run". She whispered." No I can't leave here knowing your going to die". She started to gasp for air," I'll be fine, you need to run. Now!"

I looked around to see most pack members dead. I could see my parents fighting them off. The beta Peter assisting them also Finn. I looked up and saw the same big werewolf thing looking at me.

I grabbed Katie's hand," Don't worry I'll come back for you I promise." I gave her my necklace as she whimpered. I kissed her forehead. I saw that big werewolf charging towards me. So I got up and ran towards the woods.

When I ran he followed.
