Natsu held out his hand to Lucy, inviting her to dance with him. She blushed, extending her hand to take his. But before Lucy could even sling her arms around his neck, a certain blue exceed interrupted them. "Natsu!" Happy the cat yelled across the ballroom. "Bad news!"
Lucy sighed, dropping her hands. Just one dance, is that so much to ask? She thought bitterly, waiting impatiently for their exceed friend to get closer.
"What's up, little buddy?" Natsu said and shoved his hands into his pockets.
"Levy's been taken by the Carver!" Happy said breathlessly.
"Oh no. . ." Lucy cupped her hands over her mouth. "Levy-chan. . ."
Natsu clenched his fists. "What happened?"
Happy shook his head solemnly, "I don't know. I guess Gajeel left to go get drinks and when he came back, Levy was gone!"
"Bastard," Natsu said and turned away from them.
"Natsu where are you-"
"To find Levy!" He yelled as he stalked off. "I suggest you do the same."
"Natsu!" Lucy called after him, but it was no use. He was already gone.
"Don't worry Lucy, Erza sent a team off to find her," the blue cat assured her. "We should go meet Wendy and Carla in the Masters lounge. In case the Carver decides to come back, we're probably safer there."
"Yeah, I'll meet you there in a second Happy," Lucy said dismissively. I don't want to sit and wait around while my friend is in danger.
"Lucy," Happy put a paw on her shoulder. "I know what you're thinking, and Natsu will be okay, I promise. But remember that the carver targeted female wizards. I don't want you being next-"
"Excuse me miss," a deep male voice interrupted from behind them. "But I'm a afraid you are next."
There was a snap of his fingers, and just like that, Lucy went out like a light.

Levy awoke on cold stone. She didn't understand what had happened, one minute she was dancing with Gajeel and then next she was chained to the floor someplace dark.
She struggled against her restraints, yelling out into the blackness, hoping someone would hear her. Levy stopped once she realized it was useless. Wherever she was, it was well enough hidden that no one could hear her even if they wanted to.
She stayed in silence for a while, letting her situation sink in. Levy had been offered a chocolate by a persistent waiter who was either the Carver in disguise, or an accomplice. All she remembered was hearing a snap, and then she went out like a light. She was kidnapped, that she knew for sure. But whether or not she was being held somewhere on the magic council's property was a mystery.
It was only when light burst into her cell that her suspicions were confirmed.
"Well I see your awake," a familiar voice cooed. When her eyes adjusted, she could see that the waiter was standing in the entrance, holding an unconscious blonde woman in his arms.
"Who are you " Levy demanded as he tossed the girl to the floor.
"Oh I think you already know," he grinned devilishly. "Ms. McGarden."
"How do you know my name?"
"Same way I know that this lovely lady," he knelt down slowly and grabbed the blonde by her hair. "Is Lucy Heartfilia."
The man dragged the unconscious Lucy next to Levy, kneeling down and chaining her up to the stone wall. Levy looked to see where the man had come from. There was no door, only a rectangular cut out in the stone wall that led to a spiral staircase.
We must be underground, she thought. In a basement or storehouse somewhere, and the fact that there's no door means the room's sealed by magic. She then said aloud, "You're the Carver."
"Right you are Ms. McGarden!" The Carver turned to her. "Brilliant that brain of yours is, beautiful too."
"Don't try to flatter me," Levy snarled.
"You're magic power is lovely, my dear, not your looks," The Carver said and flipped his hair out of his eyes. "Though you don't lack in that department either. Quite pretty indeed, Ms. McGarden. Solid script mage, are you not?" His dark eyes glinted evilly.
She ignored his question and glanced over at Lucy, who was still out cold. "What do you want with us," she asked quietly.
"The question is not what I want with you," he poked her cheek. "But what I can get from having you."
"What do you mean-" Levy stopped suddenly, realizing what he meant. "The guild masters. . . You think by taking us you'll get closer to the guild masters, don't you?"
"Now there my dear," said the carver as he stood back up. "Is where you're wrong."
"Nat. . ." Lucy mumbled. "-su."
"Oh, looks like your blonde friend is awake," he nodded over at Lucy. "And she's got the right idea."
"What do you want," she croaked, lifting herself up shakily. "With Natsu?"
"We're you listening this whole time Ms. Heartfilia?" The Carver grinned maliciously. "Very intuitive, I can see that Levy isn't the only brains amongst Fairy Tail's ranks! "
"Answer her!" Levy yelled. "What do you want with Nastu? I thought the Guild Masters and their top members were your targets!"
He chuckled,"Well, they were originally. But the more I looked into it the more I realized, why have the power of a handful of a few measly old men when I could wield the power of a Dragon Slayer? And Fairy Tail just so happens to have three in perfect condition!"
"No!" Lucy jerked against her chains. "Don't you dare touch them!"
Levy strained against her chains,"But why take us? Our power is nothing compared to Natsu's or Gajeel's."
"And that is exactly why," the Carver walked over to Lucy and struck her with his foot.
Lucy yelped out in pain. "I used you," he struck her again. "To lure them here," he finished.
After three swift kicked to the abdomen Lucy was back on the floor, writhing in pain. When the Carver saw she would no longer be interrupting him, he continued. "And once I have them, well. Let's just say all of your little guild friends upstairs, will become nothing more then test subjects for my weapon, and I will become unstoppable."
"No!" Lucy cried. "Natsu won't let that happen! He'll stop you, and so will Gajeel!"
"It's cute you that think so," the Carver said, bending over to caress her hair. "But what you don't realize is that those dragons slayers biggest weaknesses, are you two. Too bad you'll be long gone before they realize it."
