The launch was moved to today.
t- 10 minutes to launch
What if we fail. If the chunk of star that is broken off is to big the planet will implode. I can't stop thinking of the things that can go wrong.
Then I woke up. t-1 minute to launch
"John! JOHN!"said Arnold
"John you have to start the fuel pumps NOW!"
"oh OK" I replied
I switched a few levers and turned on the lights. This was it I was about to launch.
t-10
"you can do this" I thought to myself
t-9
"don't run away"
t-8
"no no no"
t-7
"How do I escape"
t-5
"hey where the hell did the 6 go!?"
t-4
"this is it"
t-3
"I have to get out"
t-2
"but I can't!"
t-1
"here goes"
Liftoff
My internal organs are being pressed against the inside of my back. I can't feel my limbs. I realize now that i'm not in a toy being pushed up by air. I am riding on the top of a controlled explosion. The stage separation startles me.
"Whoa, john, are you OK?"said Jerry
"yeah i'm uh - i'm fine"I said back
I am not fine I am freaking out but I can't tell him that or they eject me as I may become a threat to the crew. I hear the second stage burn out but there is no separation. I panic I can feel myself slowing down. is this the end am I going to fall to my death?
