“OMG LOOK AT A THAT CAT EVERY ONE STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND LOOK AT THAT CAT!!!”

*in gay voice* “LAWSUT!”

“Robert…” “Yes Dear?”

“Listen, Smile, agree, and do whatever the fu*k you were going to do anyways.”

“I know very little about Acting. I’m just an incredibly gifted faker.”

“The lession is that you can still make mistakes and still be forgiven.”

“I think that we all do heroic things, but hero is not a noun, it’s a verb.”

“It’s hard to get out of the barrel. It’s slippery around the edges and people are happy to see you fall back in.”

Robert on winning a Oscar: “As long as I stick around I’ll end up with a bunch of them anyways as they’re going to run out of people to give them to. And I’m probably going to win it one year when someone else deserves to win it. Why? Because it’s my time, goddamit. And that’s the way sh*t works around here. I’m just an uptight mutt at the top of his game. Welcome to Hollywood, bit*h! I’ll see you at the Vanity Fair party and I’ll be holding that golden statue you deserve “cause guess what? It happened to me too!”

“Tofu is the root of all evil, and that’s only one thing that can change a man’s mind, and that’s a modified Uzi with an extra-long clip.”

“As soon as I started smoking heroin instead of smoking coke, everything was different, and I knew it was. And it happened around the time I was doing “Home for the Holidays”. Home for the Holidays is, for me, one of the most relaxed performances in the history of cinema. I can’t attribute that to the fact that I was at a serene place in my life, or that there was a real warm feeling on the set. This is a problem for me because I glamorize this stuff. I can’t say that it wasn’t real dark, real evil and real hurtful to those around me. And yet, practically every take of that film was a print. God bless Jodie Foster. When does she have time to do a handwritten letter telling someone how she genuinely cares about them? She said, “Listen, I’m not worried about you on this film. You’re not losing it or nodding out, and you’re giving a great performance. I’m worried about your thinking you can get away with doing this on another film.”

“Worrying is like praying for something you don’t want to happen. I have such an overwhelming sense that if you’re in the right state if heart, the next right thing appears to you.”

“When you have a good script you’re almost in more trouble than you have with a terrible script.”

“I don’t see why I’d want to do another album. The Futurist came out and made its money back, but I worked my a*s off and I was not compensated in the fashion I was accustom to.”

“For years I took pride in being resilient but that turned me into this guy who could get hit by a brick bat every morning and still look kind of cute.”

“I’m very, very, very high maintenance.”

“Not to go all Michael Jackson on you, but I didn’t fit really have a childhood. So I kind of fit it in between 28 and 37.”

“My father was and is still my role model.”

“If I was a lawyer, I’d be my own best client.”

“People never change because they are under threat or under duress. Never. They change because they see something that makes their life seem valuable enough to start moving towards a life worth living.”

“It’s like I have a loaded gun in my mouth and I like the taste metal.”

“I think that power is principle. The principle of moving forward, as though you have the confidence to move forward, eventually gives you confidence when you look back and see what you’ve done.”

“Sometimes I wish I was a llama.”

“I’m not use to feeling like I belong where I am.”

“Look, even bad years are pretty good years, I think.”

“The Higher the stakes, the happier I am, the better I will be.”

“If “If’s” were gifts, each day would be like Christmas.”

“I’ve always felt like such an outsider in this industry. Because I’m so insane. I guess.’

“There is unpanned gold in every soul you run into, no matter what walk of life they are from.”

“I’m not a poster boy for good behavior and recovery in Hollywood. I’m just a guy who knows he has a lot to be grateful for.”

“For me it’s just this: Are you in your own way, or out of your own way? Are you doing the right thing or is your heart heavy?”

“People rise out of the ashes because, at some point, they are invested with a belief in the possibility of triumph over seeming impossible odds.”

“There was a time I could meet practically any woman if her defenses were down, and have her throw down her purse to hold me. It’s the vulnerable thing”

“We’re having a boy. Sh*t I did it.”

“There’s a more serious side to me that sits at home, reads and is quiet. Everyone wants to feel like they’re in touch with someone, it’s a great conversation piece, but me----the real me-----is someone only a few people know.”

“I see life as a series of challenges and battles that you either win or lose.”

“It’s nice to go into this fake court room [for Ally McBeal]. I immediately went up to the judge’s chair. Nice view. A preferable prespective.”

“A stage slap from Mike Tyson is like a shovel whack for a normally fortified male.”

“I have a sense of destiny that you are led to the things you are supposed to do.”

“What do you say though—if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plan.”

“I find myself fascinated with shows like “Bad Girls” and “Jerseylicious”, and also “Inside American Jail” and “Lockup”. The best one’s in the UK,: I watch it when I’m over there doing Sherlock. It’s called “Locked Up Abroad”, which means “locked up”. “Locked Up Abroad” is always fun.”

“It’s hard for me to watch “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and get nostalgic about it. It’s not perfect but in some ways, I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t know why.”

“My intent is dominate the playing field for as long as I can, with my own challenges, with myself.”
