School quickly became busy, and for the first half of the week following Bianca's birthday I struggled to complete my assignments that were due, and barely managed any valuable revision for my assessment tasks. I barely spoke to Harry outside of school, and I spent most of my free time in classrooms trying to get my work done.
When Friday rolled around, I was thoroughly relieved to have the weekend only mere hours away. I had no plans, but I didn't mind. I just wanted to sleep and recover from the busy week I'd had.
In our History class that day, whilst we were watching a documentary, Harry and I had a whispered conversation.
"Hey, so um, Dad and Carol want you to come over for dinner this weekend."
"When?" I grinned.
"Saturday night..."
I bit my lip. "Am I allowed to stay the night?"
"That is definitely encouraged."
"Can we sleep in Sunday morning?"
"Absolutely. I don't work Sundays."
"Good."
Harry remained quiet for a minute, before asking quietly, "So is that a yes?"
"Maybe..."
"What the fuck does that mean?" he asked a little too loudly.
I giggled softly. "Yes."

I was expecting dinner with Wayne and Carol to be a formal sit-down dinner. I was expecting this based on my previous experience of meeting Andy's parents, where his mum and dad had cooked a three-course meal and everything was delicately formal.
So when I knocked on Wayne's door Saturday afternoon, dressed in a white and pink floral dress, I was taken aback when Harry answered the door dressed in casual jeans and a shirt. I was definitely over-dressed. Again.
"Hey," he grinned before stepping forward and kissing me lightly.
"Hey," I smiled back, stepping into the house.
And then came the second surprise - it would not be just Wayne, Carol, Harry and me for dinner; it seemed that a large portion of Harry's extended family was present. Aunts and uncles of Harry's filled the kitchen and back deck, whilst a couple dozen of his cousins ran havoc in the large and spacious backyard.
"I wasn't expecting such a big event," I whispered to Harry after he had introduced me to all of his family members present.
Harry shrugged. "It was going to be just the four of us, but then Carol wanted to see her brother and sister, so they decided to just have a family get-together at the same time."
"I didn't think I'd meet the whole family so soon," I admitted.
"You have nothing to worry about," Harry said before kissing my temple. "They all think you're perfect."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

Dinner (which turned into a late lunch mixed with an early dinner) with Harry's family was a lovely and joyful event. It was relaxed and easy-going, and Wayne's cooking was absolutely delicious. After helping Carol with the clean-up, Harry found me and led me away from everyone else.
"Where are we going?" I asked. We had headed out the backdoor and around the side of the house to the spacious shed. We were far enough away from the others that we could hardly hear the music jukebox playing.
