Dear diary: 1-15-16
Last Friday,
was one of the best Friday nights I'd had in a long time, and I owe it all to my clumsiness. It all started when I was on my way to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play against the Houston Rockets.
I was in from Cleveland but today I was in Houston visiting family.
We arrived at the Toyota center with not a minute to spare.
My aunt, uncle, twin cousins Jamie and Katie and I
rushed into the arena passed security and began to proceed to our seats.Somewhere along the way we were separated.
As I looked around for them I became frustrated, by not being able to find them.I decided to call Jamie.
While the phone dialed, I walked around the venue, trying to spot them.I hung up the phone after a few rings.
Looking at the time I decided to take my seat, and catch up with them then. Now here's where my clumsiness comes into play.
I walked while looking down at my phone. All of a sudden I was on the floor as well as another person.
"Sorry!" I exclaimed
"It's fine." The gentleman replied helping me up.
I finally made eye contact with him I nearly died.
I just ran into Kyrie Irving....and knocked him over..omg!"Are you okay?" He asked me.
"I-uh." I paused getting my words together while picking up my phone that I had dropped.
Realizing that I was making a fool of myself I managed to say something besides 'uh'
"Oh yeah I'm fine, sorry about that." I finally answered coming out of my trance."No need to be sorry, just be careful.
He replied flashing me a smile."Well nice meeting you."
With that Kyrie waved and began to walk away.I made my way to the arena I figured by now the others had already taken their seats and that I'd see them then.
I was right, there they were.
Finding my seat just as the tipoff began."I texted you about ten times; where have you been?" Jamie asked.
I decided against telling her about meeting Kyrie,
Reason one being,
That she wouldn't believe me.Reason two being, that she's Rockets fan and I'm a Cavaliers fan our differences don't sit well.
"Looking for you guy's." I responded
"You didn't get my messages; I told you exactly where we were seated."
"Hold on let me check." I said taking my phone from my pocket.
Shit.
"This is not my phone." I said staring at the different wallpaper on the iPhone.
"What'd you say?" Jamie asked clearly interested in the game.
"The phone it's not mine." I answered.
