I couldn't hear anything but the sound of our harsh footsteps on the frigid concrete. It was as if I was under a spell. I had no control over my body, I could only see darkness and I could only feel a cold and thick, calloused hand gripping my forearm. I felt claws suddenly dig into my skin causing me to cry out in pain.

Slap.

A sharp pain found my right cheek bone. I immediately realized it would bruise. My knees were suddenly knocked from beneath my upper body, causing me to crumple to the ground.

"Get up!" The same calloused and cold hand wrapped around my throat capturing all of the air from my lungs.

"Are you deaf, or do you have a death wish? I said GET UP!"

'I believe the latter would be much more pleasant than being beaten to pulp by a sadistic moron.' I stifled a laugh. I was truly crazy at this point. What did this guy expect from me? All we had been doing was trudging along some concrete floors for the past, what seemed like two, hours; stopping every once in a while so Prince Charming here could punish me.

I internally groaned and begrudgingly got to my feet. All of a sudden the spell seemed to take over again. I was like a drone. Programmed to stay silent and obey. I felt a tug at my scalp. Light bathed the dark and cracked concrete walls around me all in an instant. I suddenly saw my attacker. He looked beautifully cruel. His skin was flawless, his hair was ebony in essence, and his face was extremely chiseled. He looked like a malicious god.

A sinister smile morphed onto his face.

"You will submit, you will cry out in pain and pleasure once the king is finished with you. Consider yourself lucky that you were captured instead of tortured to death. Your kind will cease to exist in a couple of weeks. Who knows maybe once he gets a sight of your repulsive eyes, it will remind him to much of the vile race you call family that he will kill you instantaneously." I scream as I see his canines elongate into sharp and lethal weapons.

My upper body rockets out of my bed covered in a blanket of sweat. Salt crosses my lips, and that is when I notice the thick and silent tears streaming down my face. I got to wipe them off of my cheek and gasp in pain. My right cheek bone feels as though someone smashed a brick into it.

'What is happening to me?' I pull myself from underneath my thin covers. This is the fifth time this week that I have had this dream. It is the same thing every time. I am kidnapped by the same man. The only difference this time is that everything that happened to me in the dream, seemed to happen in reality. I knew I couldn't keep this from my parents much longer. They were starting to wonder why I went to bed so late, why I talked less and less to them about my life, why I would wake up some mornings with my eyes red a puffy. It was inevitable, they were going to find out sooner or later.

I sighed and walked into my bathroom. As I looked in the mirror I choked on my breath. A long, red gash spread along the entirety of the right side of my face. I started rummaging through my drawers, looking for any form of makeup I might have.

'Why can't I just be a normal 16 year-old girl who loves to cake her face with pounds of make-up?'

I combed my fingers through my thick, light brown hair in an attempt to calm my nerves.

'Maybe mom has some make-up I could use!' I mentally crossed my fingers in hopes that she would. With a mission on my mind I quietly tip-toed to my parents bathroom. I opened the door to their bedroom slowly and creeped in. I had reached the bathroom door when I heard the alarm go off.

"Cade what are you doing in here?" I frowned and hid the right side of my face against the wall.

"I was just making sure that you guys were getting up." My mom raised an eyebrow.

"Well than why did you feel the need to come in here instead of just knocking?" I huffed and started walking out.

"I don't really know I guess." My mom got out of her bed and walked over to my shaking figure.

"Honey what have you been hiding from us?" She touched my right cheekbone and I started sobbing.

"Cade who did this to you?" She held her fingers over the gash and her eyes widened at the sight. A silent tear rolled down her face.

"Cadrian tell me who did this to you?" Her voice was much more demanding this time and that's when my knees gave out. When I tried to speak nothing came out.

"It's alright honey, just tell me what happened." Her voice was soothing. And so I spilled everything. I told her how ever since my brother, Landon, went missing six months ago I had been having these dreams. I told her how every week it was a different dream, but always the same creature. It was always a man telling me how their King would kill the last of my kind with great pleasure, and that I was lucky to have been captured. I confessed that whenever I was physically violated in my dreams, the exact same things occurred on my body when I woke up.

My mother looked at me as if she had seen a ghost once I shut my mouth.

"Well it's about time!" My mouth gaped opened.

"What do you mean, it's about time?" She chuckled and walked me over to her bathroom sink. Once I sat down on the counter she grabbed the med kit and took a small pouch out of it.

"Cade, I think it's time to tell you about your biological family."

I plan on making the chapters longer and in more detail. So don't quit on me yet! But I hope you all like where I am going with this, if you have any critism for me just comment and I would really appreciate it! Until next time.

"They've promised that dreams can come true- but forget to mention that nightmares are dreams, too."
