Prologue

I'm Jessie Sparks, I've just moved to this new town from California, with my dad. My mom, she's a long story but you'll find out later. I just got to this new school in New York, I'll be honest, it's pretty tough.

My dad had to move because there was this huge job offer for the same job, just a different campus, so basically a promotion. I was told that I would be attending this high school that was only a mile away from the house we just moved into. This house is like three times as big as my old one. Apparently this new job that my dad got is "this huge opportunity"which I get that this is great and stuff, but what does that even mean, an opportunity for what?

Anyways this is my first day to this new school and I was super nervous. I have no problem making friends, it just comes naturally to me, but things maybe different since this is a COMPLETELY new state, people might not be the same here as they were in California. I felt really bad about leaving all of my friends in Cali, I did tell them that I would fly to California every weekend just to see them.
