Elise's POV
"Are you feeling better, Weston?" I asked. We we're currently laying on his bed and watching Mean Girls.
Of course, we kept our distance. A few inches away, that is.
Weston smiled, "yeah. Thanks, Lizzy. You're a great friend. I just wish you were in my grade..."
I sighed, "I guess I should've told you this...I was originally in eighth grade back at my private school, but since I didn't go to public school, I have to take this huge test to see if I'm truly eligible to move up a grade above."
"Really?! That means you're gonna be in eighth grade with me?!"
I giggled slightly, "I might be in eighth grade with you. I just have to take the test but I'll be in seventh grade for the rest of the semester, so that'll be a month."
Weston smiled brightly, "yay! I can't wait!" He seemed to have almost completely forgotten the breakup.
"Same." I said.
For the rest of the day, we just watched Netflix and hung out. Pretty good day I suppose.
Monday morning
We ended up not having school for the rest of the week since the snow was so bad. Though, today is my first day of school, and I'm extremely nervous.
At least Weston will be showing me around.
I put on a simple outfit: a t-shirt and some blue jeans. I only put on some foundation, concealer and some mascara.
(Picture above, except she isn't wearing the jacket and the girl isn't what she looks like. Only the hair.)
"Elisabeth, Weston's here!" I heard my mom yell.
He must be riding the bus with me, then.
I smiled, "coming mother!"
Then I grabbed my backpack and raced down the stairs to see Weston.
Mom kissed me on the forehead, "see you at dinner, Hun. Your dad and I will be working late tonight so just go to Weston's house."
She handed me a granola bar and pushed me out the door, "don't be late for the bus!"
"I won't, bye! J'taime !" I yelled.
Weston crinkled up his nose a bit in confusion, "what does that mean?"
I laughed slightly, "it means, 'I love you' in French."
"Ohhhh..." Weston laughed nervously, "oh, and Lizzy...I need to warn you about this guy at our bus stop. He's popular and all but he's a complete jerk and pervert. Don't sit with him. Since I sit alone on the bus, why don't you sit with me? I'm sure the other eighth graders won't mind."
"Okay." I said, looking out for the guy, "what's his name?"
Weston crinkled his nose in disgust, "Hunter Rowland. He's a YouNower. Even though we're kinda friends, I still think he's a jerk. He moved here from Arizona with his brother Brandon last year. Brandon is cool, though."
(Btw, I know Hunter and Weston don't hate each other. But this is just a story. So deal w/ it 😁😎)
I've seen some of Hunter's broadcasts, he doesn't seem like a jerk at all...
"Okay, I won't talk to Hunter then." I said.
Weston sighed, "I guess I really shouldn't be telling you who and who not to be friends with, but I just don't want you getting tangled up in all his drama. He's a player, too. Hunter has probably dated 90% of the cheerleader population at our school." He smirked, "and there's a lot cheerleaders."
I laughed slightly, "really? I used to be a cheerleader, actually."
"Whoa! You need to send me pictures after school." Weston said.
When we got to the stop, I saw Hunter, Brandon and Tara. Great. All the people I should stay away from. At least, Weston said Brandon's cool...but still.
Hunter glanced over at me and smirked slightly and whispered something to Brandon. Brandon also glanced over and smirked as well.
I merely just rolled my eyes and waited for the bus silently.
When the bus came, I boarded it with Weston and we sat somewhere in the back.
Five minutes into the ride, Hunter spoke, "So, Weston..who's the new girl?" He asked.
Weston sighed, "Her name is Elise. She just recently moved into the neighborhood."
"What grade?"
"Seventh." I spoke up, "though, I have to take this huge test to go up to eighth grade sometime next month."
Hunter smirked, "can't wait."
His smirk made me feel a bit uneasy. But, I can't lie...it is kinda hot.
Damn it, Elise! Don't think like that! All he is is a stupid player. That's all.
And nothing more than a player.
Later at school
"And this is the library." Weston said, "it's in the center of the school. Whenever you get lost, you'll most likely end up in the library."
I nodded, "your school is so much bigger than my old school. But I think I'll adjust...at my all girls private school there was only about 500 people in the entire building."
"Hey, Weston! Come over here!" A group of guys called Weston over.
"Hold on, Lizzy." Weston said and walked over to his friends.
I awkwardly stood there until a girl walked up to me and smiled.
"Hi, my names Tara. Are you lost?" Tara asked, then she gasped slightly, "wait! You're the new girl, aren't you! I saw you at my bus stop this morning."
I smiled back, "yeah. My name is Elisabeth, but you can call me Elise."
She's the one who broke up with Weston.
"Hunter told me you're in seventh grade, but moving up to eighth when the semester is over. Correct?"
I nodded.
"What's your number? We should hang out sometime." Tara said.
"Okay." I dialed in my number into her phone, "it was nice meeting you, Tara."
"You too Elise!" And with that, Tara left for her next class.
