As I sit here in class my mind wanders,
I feel restless as a wolf pup,
I walk through my past,
Watching as I slowly grow up.
I run through the fields where I grew,
I didn't know much, but I have learned a lot.
When you slept enough and school was easy,
when it didn't matter what they thought.
As I walk I realize what could have been,
Smiling when I could have turned cold.
Disapproving as I turn my back on opportunities.
It's a long road to wisdom, is what I've been told.
I'm only so old to know so much,
but I'm only so young to know so little.
I want to be young and freely seeking adventure,
But I want to grow old with love and be brittle.
Life may be difficult and may be fragile,
I may never understand your situation,
but I believe if you work hard enough,
enough dedication can change a nation.
