I long for your smile,
for your warmth.
You sat upon the highest throne
in a kingdom of beauty and heart.
With love you gave to me
stories of the past,
and mindfulness of the future.
And though your heart was small,
your love was something vast and bright.
To me you were the giant sunflowers,
which bloomed in your garden and cast colors of happieness
upon the dimmest of days.
To me you were the canned peaches that you made in plenty,
which were sweet and small and simple.
To me you were the bell that you had given to me,
which gives to me comfort in knowing that you are still here,
with me,
and every ring in which is rung
I know
my Princess Anna Mae will embrace my heart once more.
