Many people ask me how am I or has everything been good lately for you. I ask myself that all the time, but I don't know the answer to that. Of course me, myself, and I ask myself that because it's hard to lose someone.
Amelia Rosa Cruz, my mother. She was the most gorgeous woman in this entire universe. Well, in my opinion of course. She recently died from breast cancer, three days before her birthday, which was June 24th.
I try to forget all the bad memories, but people kept reminding me about it.
My name is Andrea Carrington Cruz. I'm 18 and I love to dance. All I did since I was little was dance. Pop, tap, ballet, and more. I did all of it because my mom wanted me to follow her road and I totally was happy with her decision because I loved her very much.
Now that I'm in college, I'm very happy and I have never loved my life as much as I love it right now. Good thing I'm on break now, so I can hang out with my old friends and even my dad.
"Hey!" I see my old friend from seventh grade, Casey, running up to me.
My mouth curves into a smile, "oh my gosh, hey! I missed you so much!" I hug her like we're never gonna see each other again.
"We have so much to talk about." She squeals as she holds on my hand tightly.
"Where are the boys?" I ask as I look behind her.
"They're coming soon, but we should head inside." Casey suggested.
We both walk to the front door of my house I haven't been in for about a year. I knock ten times, so my dad knows it's me. Few seconds later, the door slowly opens to reveal my old looking father.
His eyes widen and a toothy smile shows up on his face, "oh my, Andrea! How has college been to you?"
"Great, amazing. Haven't been better!" I answer back.
"That's good. Hey Casey, how has your family been?" My dad asked as he leaned against the door frame.
"They're doing good, Grayson."
"Good, good. Why am I keeping y'all guys in this hot weather? Please c'mon in." My dad moves to the side as we both walk inside the chilly house.
I take a seat on the 'L' shaped couch we had for years and slightly closed my eyes.
"Hey, the guys wanted to go to Panera." Casey whispers to me as she looks down at her phone.
I nod my head, "okay, let's go now." I get up and grab my keys, seeing Casey following behind me. "Dad, we're going to see the guys."
"Alright, have fun." He replied as he pours himself a glass of water.
"Thanks." We both walk out the front door and walked to my car. I hopped in my warm jeep and started the engine.
Panera is pretty close to my house, so it only took five minutes. We both jump out the tall car and headed inside. Casey opens the door for me as I thank her. I start to look around for a table full of ugly boys. Then I finally caught them in corner of the restaurant.
"Hey guys." I say as I wave my hand back and fourth at them.
"Hey!" I hear them say at the same time and a few saying it after.
I take a seat next to my old best friend, Colton. I look around to see my friends having fun and telling jokes, but one face stood out and caught my attention. It was a boy, with blonde hair. He's really gorgeous and I would have remembered a gorgeous face like his.
"Oh, Andrea. Meet Sam." My friend, Blake said as he points to Sam.
"Hey, nice to meet you." Sam holds his hand out for me to shake.
I shake back and smile, "nice to meet you also. I know we're going to be good friends." I nod.
Really Andrea? Stop being so creepy. He probably hates me now and thinks I'm a creep.
We both stare at each other for a while, till we both hear a cough.
"Um, so how has everyone been?" Casey asked as she broke the silence, trying to make a conversation.
"Awesome, I have a girlfriend." Blake squeals as Colton gives him a high five.
"Really? No way, dude." My other friend, Mason said as he rolls his eyes at the both of them.
Blake's face turns serious and frowns, "okay, I'm just kidding guys."
We all laugh our butts off. Blake always told us he had a girlfriend. When we were in middle school, he told us he had a girlfriend, but she didn't go to our school. We all knew he was lying though.
Everyone was now making their little own conversations while Sam and I kept listening to them. I just wanted to take one more look at him. Just one, so I looked up quickly and noticed he was staring at me. Was he staring at me this whole time?
I look down, feeling really awkward. So I decided to excuse myself from the table, "I'm going to use the restroom real quick." They all nod, telling me that I can go to the restroom.
I open the squeaky restroom door as I walk to one of the sinks. I take a look at myself, seeing that I know how I feel now. Seeing my old friends, my dad, and meeting Sam has made my day the best day ever.
I throw my thoughts away as I make my way out the restroom. I suddenly bump into someone, making my back hit the wall.
"Andrea, I'm so sorry." I hear a deep voice. I look up to see Sam with a worried look on his face.
I slowly push myself up and nod, "it's alright Sam."
"Ah, I know we just meet, but I wanted to ask you out on a date. Well, you don't have to yes. I just wanted to get to know you better and I thought you were really beautiful. So, would you like to go out on a date with me?"
I was really shocked, but I really like him already, so might as well say yes, "I would be honored." I say as I kiss his cheek lightly.
Am I falling for him already?
