Maya's outfit for the party. Not the best but hey it did say a lot of hangovers didn't it?

"Maya, come on the cafe is going to close!"
"Riley, it's barely 4!" I looked at the mirror observing the outfit one more time. I had on plain boyfriend jeans, a long black sweater, and some black booties. "Okay lets go!" I said grabbing my phone from the stand in my room and my wallet.

"This is absolutely breathe-taking" I gaped at the view of the cafe. Oh this wasn't your regular cafe. It wasn't like those Barnes and Noble cafes or the hospital one either. It was a mix between modern and 70's/60's. I always loved the 50s-90s time. It was just the idea on how it was became then when people weren't on their phone continuously and they were laughing and rejoicing. Now days you can't have that but somehow this cafe made me feel connected. It was cute how they even added a "please put your phones away while we time travel" sign. Weird? yeah. Good taste in design? Hell yeah.

"I wish they would have made this place sooner." Riley commented while gawking at a male by the register. "Riles, he is looking at you." She quickly turned away and I gave him a small wave , which he returned. "He looks like Ian Somerhalder, that's all I'm saying!" This girl and vampires , let me shut up because I'm overly obsessed.

Riley and I had sat the table nearest to the mini stage. It had a karoke machine and a microphone. Nothing special in particular. We were eating our blueberry muffins along with regular coffee.

A voice behind us startled me, "Hey girls, If either one of you want to sing right now its the time!" I turn to my side and see a woman. She was probably either 50 or 55. I gave her best smile and nodded.

"Maya you have to do it!" I choked on my delicious muffin and gave Riley a frightened look. "I'll do that when Elena wakes up." Riley ignored my comment and pushed me towards the stage , where a man sat near by.

I quickly glared at Riley who was sitting and looking anywhere but my eyes. "Huh?" I look at the man sitting infront of me looking bored. "I said what's your name?" He looked at me before realizing I had no idea what he was talking about. "To present you." He gave me a fake smile and waited impatiently. I chewed on my bottom lip and looked around the cafe. A few kids from NYU and some families, two or so. "Maya Hart." I said confidently. "I would like to sing, 'Can't help falling in love by Elvis' thank you."

After the man had set up everything , he stood up and went to the stage. "Ladies and Gentlemen, if I could have your attention please!" Mhm now he's acting all nice with his bald head looking like a jelly bean. A push at my  side made me stumble onto the stage. Okay this was it.

"I'm Maya Hart and I will be singing a song by our rock n roll king, Elvis Presley." I gave the people a cheeky smile and closed my eyes.

Wise men say,
Only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you.
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin?
If I can't help falling in love with you"
I sang quietly and pretended it was only me. I breathed in and out .

"Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand,
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you."
I continued on with the song , imagining it was only me.

The song ended and I didn't dare to open my eyes. Everything was quiet and when I opened my eyes, everyone seemed stunned. Whistles and loud claps filled the room along with friendly smiles. "More!" shouted a young mother , while her children gave me thumbs up. She saw the place had filled up way more than before but she didn't dare to look at the faces. It would make her more nervous. It was plain logic. More people started to chanting for more that it suprised her. I gave them a nod and turned to jelly bean who no longer seemed bored. "A Drop In The Ocean by Ron Pope." The beat soon started and everyone didn't make a sound. Once again, she blocked away everyone around her. Now to make her less nervous , she imagined her mother singing to her.
