And there I was standing in front of my new high school, wondering how people would treat me. What group would I fit in? All these queries roaming through my head. Then the piercing bell rang and I headed to the school office.
I got my timetable and started to walk to my new form room. When I got there I slowly opened the door, my new teacher Ms Smith saw me and introduced me to the class. I got ushered to a seat and we began form time. Ms Smith sat me next to a boy called Dexter. He was gorgeous. We were paired for everything even P.E.
But the bad thing was he was in the popular group, I was in the music group. I love music, I kinda got a music scholarship for this school. I was in year 8 when I got the scholarship, I was thrilled and happy to go to a new high school, because I was getting bullied badly. So I got the chance to have a new experience of high school, or so I thought.
At break I meet the three populars of the year. Zara, Jennifer and the leader Britney. They were the party planners and in the yr 9 hierarchy they were at the top and I was at the bottom. It sucked.
The bell rang again and it was science and we were doing an experiment. It was chromatography and I was talking to dexter about it and then I asked him why "Britney is the most popular girl in our year".
He said it was "because she was dating the most popular guy in our year". And guess what it was him. Talk about dreams being crushed. I had a major crush on dexter and it turned out that he was dating the most popular girl in our year who was in my class. I acted cool about it and went a couple days thinking about it. But then I realised I wasn't new anymore it had been a week and I survived.
I went to school the next day with a smile on my face, but then I saw dexter and britney kissing. I decided to go to my music lessons at break and lunch so I didn't have to see britney or dexter any more. I only had to survive lessons with dexter.
First lesson was drama and we had to get into our pairs and act out a breakup. It was so easy for me, I just imagined dexter and britney breaking up and acted that out. Dexter tried to talk to me but did I respond, no. The next lesson dexter asked me what's wrong and I said nothing but he didn't take and I didn't tell him. And then he said wanna come over to mine we've got a lot of studying to do. Of course I said yes. My day had finally got better.
When I got home I put on my nicest outfit (blue jeans, a purple tank top and my favourite pink doc martins, I let my hair out of my messy bun so my curls could flow, I put on the necklace my mother got me last year, it had real diamonds in it. ), and headed to dexter's place. When I got there I was about to walk away but then the door opened and this adorable little girl was there. She asked me if I was dexter's girlfriend and I said no. then the little girl said come in, at first I was thinking what the hell just happened. I was just about to ask the small girl why she had asked that but dexter's mum came in and called dexter down. When he saw me his jaw dropped and I raised my eyebrow to indicate what you are doing. He seemed to get it and told me to come upstairs for a tour.
When I saw his room I was actually impressed of how clean it was. I asked him if britney would like me being here, he just laughed and said britney doesn't control me, she's only my girlfriend. I laughed to and started to be happy. We went quickly down stairs.
We studied science, we were studying chemistry what a consistence. We were silent until dexter said I looked great today. I was overwhelmed, and made a note to myself to wear stuff like this frequently.
He told me that he heard "I got a music scholarship", I confirmed "that I did". He asked what instruments I play and I told him that I play drums, guitar, piano, bass, violin, viola and I also sing. He asked me if I could come over this Saturday to teach him guitar and drums. I said "sure but you better come over to mine were I have all my instruments, cause it's not easy to carry a drums kit". We both laughed. And then I had to leave because I didn't want to be late for curfew.
