Summer Love

The summer of Hanna

Hanna stared down at the packing list on her bed.

Bikini, flipflops, shorts,laptop,sunglasses,journal. Check.

Never in a million years did Hanna think she'd be spending the summer with her best friend in Florida. Fort Meyers to be exact. In a colorful rental beach house for 3 months. After a month of begging and lots of phone conversations with her best friend Emily they finally convinced her parents to allow her to go.

Today was the day they were leaving. 4:00 flight to Fort Meyers, Florida baby. She triple checked her packing list and finally headed downstairs a suitcase and duffel bag in hand. Practically jumping with excitement Hanna stood by the front door waiting for Emily's family to come pick her up to head to the airport. A knock came from the door and Hanna flung it open as quick as her arms would allow her. "FLORIDA TIME!!!" Emily screamed as the door opened to reveal her face. Hanna said rushed goodbyes to her parents and ran to the car with her bags. Before they knew it they were at the airport, Starbucks in hand, walking to their gate trailing behind Emily's parents and older brother Wren.

After awhile of waiting and 20 minutes of people boarding the plane they were finally in the air. Emily already sleeping in her seat next to Hanna. Staring out from her window seat Hanna grabbed her journal.

We're finally on our way. I've never been so excited in my life. My parents finally trust me enough to allow me to go on this trip. This is gonna be my summer. I can feel it.

A short while later was the announcement that the plane was preparing for landing. " We're so close, this is gonna be a perfect summer Han" Emily squealed. Once they got their luggage they loaded in a rental car and left the airport. 20 minutes later they found themselves pulling down a colorful street of beach houses with the beach just at the end of the road. The one they were staying at must have been the biggest one on the street. "Hey girls, we'll unload the luggage why don't you guys go walk around the town?" Emily's mom suggested. They were in a tiny beach town right outside Fort Myers. They nodded and decided to start at the beach. This summer is gonna be great. Life changing even. It's going to be the summer of Hanna.
