I paced back and forth, anxiety wrapping around me, slowly suffocating me. My mother attempted to calm me down, but I couldn't. Not when Samuel was out there, inspecting Ryker's warehouse. My heart hammered against my chest, the fear pumping through my veins."Ara, relax. It's not good for your baby." My mother soothed, gently grabbing me by the shoulders.
I sighed, "What if he gets hurt or..." I couldn't even finish the sentence. That thought alone had me whimpering a bit.
She smiled softly at me and hugged me, placing a gentle kiss on my temple. "Samuel is one of the strongest men I've seen, aside from Vincent and your father. He can handle this." She assured me.
I felt slightly relaxed at her confidence in my mate, but I still worried. It wasn't that I doubted him, it's just the fact that Ryker isn't someone to mess with. I sighed and sat down on the couch, at least they're not attacking.
The plan was to plant a device in there so we can hear all of his plans. That way, we can always be a step ahead of him. Samuel didn't want to risk losing lives of our warriors, especially when we had no idea what we were up against. It didn't take us long to agree and start planning. Though it was a very stressful process, consisting of Samuel and I fighting. Guilt clawed at me, before he left we had a nasty argument. He said some things and so did I. The hurt that showed in his eyes had me wanting to comfort him and apologize, but he had hurt me too. Neither one of us wanted to be the bigger person, so, he left with the others.
I swallowed, I don't want his last memory of me being me bitching at him. I ran my hand through my hair for what seemed like the hundredth time today. I snapped my attention to the front door as someone knocked on it, giving me a small speck of hope. However, when my mother opened it to reveal two women, my heart sank.
As I studied the two women I furrowed my brows, the one almost looked like a female version of Samuel. Does he have another sister or something?I then remembered what Aria had said, his mother was still alive. My eyes widened, watching her as she walked in. She looked around before her eyes landed on me, a warm smile gracing her face.
"You must be Arabella." She beamed, walking over.
I nodded quietly, still too shocked to respond. She chuckled and gently grabbed my jaw.
"I'm so happy my son found you...was he...is he...." She sighed, her voice cracking. "Is he okay?"
I finally escaped the shock and smiled. "He is now."
"I'm assuming he went to attack someone or something?" She asked, sitting beside me. "I know he would always do that."
I chuckled, "More like spy on someone."
I looked over at the other woman, her crimson eyes connected with mine. I tilted my head, she was super pale, but beautiful. I blinked when I caught her scent, it was familiar.
Vampire.
"You're a vampire." I observed.
The vampire smiled, "That I am, dear."
Samuel's mother smiled, "She helped me escape Ryker."
"I was curious as to how you were here." My mother sounded, smiling. "It's nice to see you again, Eve."
"Well, if it isn't my long lost sister." His mother sighed dramatically. "We have a lot to catch up on!"
The vampire and I exchanged confused glances as we watched the two. I gulped, please don't tell me she's as insane as my mother.
A/N: Hope you like that nice pic of Samuel :)
Eve and Ara's mom are not sisters, they're just close friends :)
