Dave and Steve went to there house and took some items that might be useful.They started their journey on finding Steve's memory .They started on where he woke up. They searched for so long until they found a book it was burried on where he woke up .they started reading it

first memory is located on an abandoned mineshaft there are a lot of chests but yeah you can find it
second is inside the nether ruins there are some tough guards so be careful and the others will be written on the 2nd memory find them and find out who you really are.
