My Dark Knight.

The birds chirped their quiet melody, as the wind blew a gentle gust against the fresh green grass. I layed there, looking up at the deep blue sky. When did everything get so complicated, I asked myself. I closed my eyes, finally falling into a peaceful slumber.

 > Flashback <

"Leck, COME BACK!" I ran after him as fast as my small legs could. He turned around, continuing to run, as he waved my doll up in the air tauntingly, "Come and get me princess!"

The taunts continued as I continued to chase him, "Leck GIVE IT BACK!" I tackled him on the soft grass, making us roll around before I straddled ontop of him and slapped his face.

Leck hissed at the pain, and looked at me with anger, "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

I looked back with just as much anger, and tugged my doll away from him, "You MADE ME CHASE YOU FOR MY DAMN DOLL. YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT IT ALONE."  Our best friend Sarah came behind us, and giggled, "Fraylin we were just playing Cops and Robbers. I told him to play it. So don't blame it on him."

I pushed Sarah down on the grass too, "Then I'll blame you. It's not funny, you know how important this doll is to me."

Sarah looked sadly at me, "I'm sorry Fraylin. I just wanted to play Cops and Robbers.."

I nodded my head at her, letting her know I accept her apology. I looked back down at Leck, waiting.

"What?" He asked with an attitude.

"Where's my apology?!" I spat back.

His mouth twitched to the side, "You ain't getting your apology Fraylin. We were just playing around."

"Well fine then. Don't apologize. I'm going to my room, don't talk to me until you do." I got off of Leck, and walked back to the castle, holding onto my doll tightly.

> Flashback ends <

Someone shook me gently, as a smooth and deep voice spoke, "Princess Fraylin, wake up." Fluttering my eyes open slowly, the beam lights of the sun surrounded the figure, giving him a heavenly look.

"What do you want Leck?" my voice croaked, as I turned to the other side, hoping to be left alone.

"The king, or your father, has requested your presence immediately." Leck said with a blank, cold look.

"Tell him I have nothing to say to him right now. And whatever he has to say, he can deliver the message to you. I need to be left alone, and I don't need anymore complications." I answered tiredly, closing my eyes once again.

"Princess. Stop acting like this." Leck hissed out.

I turned back around abruptly, staring into his eyes, "Acting like what Leck? I think I have the right to feel this way. You have no idea how I feel right now. I'm being forced to choose a husband, out of the four my "dear" father wants. And then after the choosing, I have to be queen. For bloody sakes Leck, you know how I am towards the old tradition of this damn kingdom. And then the pressure of everyone's lives of this kingdom is placed on me."

Leck flaired his nostrils angrily, and shook his head, "Princess don't-"

"Don't princess me. Leck why can't you call me Fraylin like a friend should. We grew up together for fucks sakes. And while you're at it, smile." I scoffed.

Leck just sighed, sitting down by me, "Princess."

 "Fraylin." I interjected.

 "Princess Fraylin you know I-"

 "Fraylin."

"You know I can't call you that Princess." He sighed again.

"Just cause you're the leader of the Dark Knights, it doesn't mean you can't smile. And it also doesn't mean you can't call your friend her first name."

"I know I just-" I cut him off by standing up, brushing my dress off.

"Lets just go see what father wants." I sighed, walked back through the forest, letting the wind blow my golden brown locks back.
