Chapter One

"I, Riley Matthews, am up here for a reason. I am sixteen and you know that magazine that's world famous? What's it called? Hot Gossip?".

A wave of nods made my cheeks turn a faint red and my lips curve into a smile.

"I made it."

Multiple gasps fill my ears and I hear different replies and focus on them, tempted to stick my mommy fingers in my ears to block out the noise.

'Yeah right!' is the most common response to this...honestly unbelievable situation. I gasp and run my fingers all the way down my brunette, curly, hair. "I know," I softly start, "This is probably unbelievable and unrealistic, but I did it. I have an unpublished draft right here to help my case, hopefully."

"This is incredible!" I hear a familiar person say, I look in the audience; Charlie Gardner, my boyfriend that I love so much!

After a while, I leave the stage and go up to Charlie, "You came, Char-Char! I can't believe you didn't miss it. Thank you."

"I wouldn't miss something this important," he softly spoke, sending butterflies in my stomach under my black and white tank top and black leggings, "Let me drive you home." I smile and we walk to the parking lot silently, the only sound from the click clack of my black pumps. I rub my hands on the handle of his silver jeep and open the door slowly. I push my hair back and enter the car, closing the door as I plop in the front seat and hear the zip! of the seat belt.

"Charlie?" I ask after a moment of silence, he turns his handsome face to me.

"Yeah, Riley?" he asks stopping at a red light, causing his full attention to be on his girlfriend; me! Yay! Lol.

"What do you think happens now? Do I get hated on? Loved on? Attention?" I asked, he shrugs, the light turns bright green and he instantly starts up the car again.

"Riley, whatever you want to happen, happens now. You get to decide what happens next after this goes public and a bad-quality film of you admitting that you wrote Hot Gossip goes viral in a good way," he explains. I nod.

"I think I want to start getting paid for this. This is extremely popular and I have my ways of finding out, so I think I want to start getting a profit from it." I smile holding up the draft and rubbing the silky, good condition cover.

"That's a good idea, Riles." He stops in the apartment building and we go inside. He pulls me close and I lay my head on his sharp shoulders. He clicks the 'up' button on the elevator and we walk inside. I get my head off his shoulders and our hands intertwine and lock, we stare at each other and smile. We are so in love, its throw up worthy! We then enter the building to see Auggie, Ava, Topanga, and Corey playing Candy Land. "Hey Mr. and Mrs. Matthews! And hi to you too little munchkins! I'm here to return your daughter, Riley." They smiled, but I glared.

"Here to return your daughter?!" I scoffed, putting my hand on my heart to be even more dramatic, "What am I? A football?!". They laugh and I kiss Charlie on the cheek and go to my room.
