Chapter four

We were pretty tired from running all over the place. So when we got on the bus at like 8:00 and we sat down, we pretty much almost fell asleep. " The lake house is like 20 minutes away so you can take a nap." I said to Khelani. " Ok, wake me up in ten minutes so you can sleep for the other ten." Khelani said as she layed on my shoulder. It's 8:21 at night and we finally made it to the lake house. I was REALLY exhausted but I didn't wake up Khelani because I wanted her to sleep for the whole 20 minutes. I mean it's my fault that I dragged her in this mess.

I shook Khelani to wake up, " Khelani wake up, we get off at the next stop." Khelani had a mark on her right cheek from the zipper on my jacket. " Mila! Oh my god I told you to wake me up in ten minutes, you look like a freakin zombie with those bags under your eyes." I looked at her with squinted eyes and said, " Calm down Khelani were almost at the lake house I can crash there." She mean mugged me and said, " Fine, but you better not pass out on me while we're walking there." I smiled and the bus driver said, " Last stop, everybody must get off." When Khelani and I got off the bus i couldn't even walk, my knees were so weak that I kept on wobbling while walking to the lake house. I barely made it to the lake house, Khelani helped me walk the last ten steps to the door step. " Ok good we made it. This place is pretty nice Mila, and the view is pretty sweet. Anyway you better get some sleep bef.... Mila! Oh my god Mila!"

Mila's P.O.V
   Khelani's voice was fading out while I was looking at her and my eyes were getting blurry. After that I couldn't hear Khelani anymore except for the wind rushing past my ear. Before I realized that I was falling I hit my head hella hard on something and I was out.

" Mila! Your head is bleeding, oh my god let me get a towel." Khelani said in a worried voice. She rushed back outside and pressed the towel against the wounded part of Mila's head. " Please don't die, please..." Khelani cried out. Khelani dragged Mila in the lake house and and propped her on the couch, she grabbed an aid kit from the kitchen drawer and started putting alcohol on it and a bandaged. While Khelani waited for Mila to wake up she searched around the house for evidence of Mila's dad. She looked in the kitchen drawers, their bedroom, the closet, and even the bathroom but she didn't find anything. She sighed and looked out of one of the bedroom windows and saw a little shack right outside the lake house. She quickly ran out of the house and started rummaging through the tools and papers. She almost gave up until she saw a paper saying " Efficient Location Agency" she started reading and the paper showed were the agency was located and other complicated things. She ran out of the shack calling Mila's name but she saw a black car parked right outside of the lake house. Khelani was confused and ran to the lake house. Before she even stepped on the porch she saw Veronica, dragging Mila by the neck, with a gun in her other hand. " Stop!" Khelani said. Veronica looked at Khelani with a smirk on her face and said, " Who's gonna stop me? You? Haha I don't think so. I told you I would find her." Veronica pointed the gun toward Khelani and threatened her that if she came any closer she will shoot her. Khelani knew that she should just ignore the gun and try to save Mila but she was to scared and did what Veronica said. She watched her put Mila in the back seat and drive off. Khelani dropped on her knees and started crying.
