I'm running... heart beating fast and loud. They're right behind me, getting closer and closer by the second. "Come back here nerd!" I heard them calling. The exit just a few more feet away.I was so close, but at the same time so far way. My legs felt weak, like jell-o, and my ribs hurt from all the fast breathing I've been doing. Just as I was about to reach the gate of the football field, one of them tackled me... Luke. I fell down, hitting my side on a rock, which brought a stinging pain. Luke immediately turned me over on my back, pinning me down on the floor waiting for the other two to catch up.

"You're in big trouble this time," Luke whispered in my ear, with a voice so cold it sent shivers down my spine. As he did I saw Michael and Calum approaching us. "Good job man. I've never seen you run so fast before!" Michael told Luke. Calum made his way towards us, squatting down to be in level with us. " Haven't you learned that fighting back and running away only makes us even more angry. Thought you were smarter than that." he said, smirk on his face. "Let the fun begin!" Luke got off of me, letting them do whatever was in mind.

Michael went for my hair, pulling it so tightly that i thought he would rip it off. Calum started kicking my sides and stomach, almost making me throw up. Luke stood there for a second, probably thinking of where to hit me. I saw an evil grin grow on his face, and before I knew it he had stepped on my ankle. A loud and stomach twisting cracking noise was produced. I let out a scream so loud it could be heard miles away. This put a look of satisfaction on his face. "Oh God, please don't let it be broken!" I thought to myself.

My body was going numb, which helped with the pain. After hitting and kicking every inch of my body, they stopped. Michael and Luke started walking away, leaving Calum behind. "Please, just leave me alone already," I pleaded. He grabbed my wrist, his grip so tight I felt it breaking. "I hope you learned your lesson. Don't ever run away again unless you wanna end up dead." He said, his face growing angrier. He let go of my wrist and stood up, but before leaving, he kicked my stomach one last time before running after his friends.

I'm left lying on the field, staring up at the star lit sky. My body filling up with the excruciating pain. I find the strength to sit up, and I have the feeling something might be broken. I can feel the red sticky substance coming out of my nose, flowing down slowly like molten lava, as well as on the cuts on my face and arms. Bruises shaped like Calum's fingers are already forming on my wrist. Even more bruises cover my arms and face. I slowly lift up my shirt to see where Calum kicked me, immediately regretting my decision. A big purple bruise tattooed my stomach and parts of my ribs. Surely he must have broken some.

"I need to get out of here," I think to myself. I take out my phone and text the one person who actually cares.

Me: I need help plz come for me

Ashton: you ok? Where are you?

Me: at my school's football field I'll explain later

Ashton: ok on my way be there in 5 minutes

Me: ok

I carefully stood up, grabbing my side. I made my way to the exit gate... the one that, if I would've reached, could have spared me this experience. I waited for Ashton, and soon enough his car pulled over. When he saw me, he quickly got out of his car running towards me.

"Oh God Skylar, are you ok? Did they do this?" He asked, panic clear on his face. "Don't worry about it, it was my fault." I said. My head started spinning and my body started going numb. Before I could collapse, Ashton caught me. He picked me up bridal style and put me in the passenger seat, making sure to carefully put on my seatbelt. He made his way to the driver's seat, quickly putting on his seatbelt. "It's going to be ok." He said, lightly squeezing my hand in his. That's the last thing I remember, before everything went black.
