Logan ran a hand through his messy dark brown hair. This couldn't be happening, not again. He had saw her. His mate. He groaned as he recalled every aspect of her. Her long red hair, her long slender legs, her wide hips, and that mouth that did things he couldn't explain.
Annika. That name was as beautiful as her. Just the sound of it drove him crazy. He shook his head violently, no, he couldn't risk hurting her or himself. Logan growled as he fought with himself. She was so perfect and he wanted her so bad, but he was bad and selfish and every other name in the book.
He ripped off his shirt and jeans and prepared for the shift. His body had long since was use to the change and it was exhilarating. The heat ran down his spine and warm every part of him. His bones cracked and re positioned themselves into his giant wolf form.
Logan landed on all fours with a thud. His dark brown, almost black, coat shined in the moonlight. Then he began to run. Air filled his lungs to the bursting, his legs moved in synchronization, and he developed a healthy rhythm. He didn't know where he was going to go, but it was better than being lost in his own thoughts.
He found himself in a quaint little neighborhood, in front of an average looking house. He knew just by taking a whiff of the air where he was, at Annika's house. Logan shifted back to his human form and climbed up to her window. He slid it open silently and crept into her room. Relief and calmness filled his core as he gazed at her sleeping figure. Her flame hair fanned out on her pillow, her pink lips parted, her lashes swept across her rosy cheeks, and her slender body outlined in the sheets.
Logan bent down next to her and placed a light kiss on her forehead, "I wish I was good enough for you,"
Annika woke up in a start. She could have sworn she heard someone in her room. Her green eyes searched her little room, looking for any sign of a disturbance. Then it hit her, a tantalizing smell of deliciousness. It was musky and woodsy, but with something deeper. Spicy and manly mixed with fiery passion. It was just amazing and left her breathless.
She breathed deep lungfuls of it. Her head swimming with the addictive smell. She laid back down on her mountain of pillows. Her eyelids fluttered and the sweet smell filled her nose. Soon she was fast asleep, but her mind was still on that mysteriously gracious smell.
After school, Annika walked home, alone except for the soft crunch of leaves under her feet. Not watching she bumped into someone and fell on the ground. "I'm so sorry," she apologized immediately, "I wasn't watching where I was going." The boy smiled at her and helped her to her feet. He was a boy-next-door cute with floppy strawberry blonde hair and sea blue eyes. "Hey it's okay."
He extended his hand, "I'm Jason by the way." She smiled back and shook his hand, "I'm Annika." He began walking with her, chatting about anything he could think of. Annika really wanted to just be by herself, but chatted with back politely.
Logan watched in anger. Fury rippled through his body as he watched his mate with that gangly piece of crap. How dare he even come near what was his?! Logan growled lowly, his hands clenched at his sides. Red clouded his eyes as he stalked toward them.
