Meeting Him...

I stepped off the plane in Sydney it was only a two hour flight from my home in Adelaide, this was my first Youtuber fest and to say I was nervous was a complete understatement. I had organised online to be staying in a hotel apartment with my youtuber friends, Troye Sivan and Tyler Oakley but I had never met them in person before.

They had mentioned an after party of some sort but i would feel awkward just busting into someones after party, i probably wouldn't know them and they almost definitely wouldn't have even heard of me.

I may have been invited to Youtuber Fest but i only have a couple thousand subscribers, nothing in comparison to the others coming. I actually think Tyler paid someone to get me an invite, probably so I wouldn't feel left out.

I was walking down the clear terminal tube and I wasn't even sure who I was looking for or where I was supposed to go, I had never even left the state of South Australia, It was only recently i had my first adventure out of the city and that was with the comfort of having my parents by my side. Now here I am in a completely different state all by myself, how was I supposed to deal with this.

Just as I was about to start having a nervous break down I spotted the friendly face I had only seen through a Skype screen. Tyler Freaking Oakley!

I ran up to him and gave him the biggest hug possible with my tiny body. not meaning to sound up my self I'm just really short and I have quite a small frame.

"ooh, gurl someone's excited to see me, giving me a big ol' hug" Tyler tried to tease me but I was just too happy to see him and not some random with a sign. I don't like having to interact with people I don't know. I know what you're thinking you don't like talking to people, you must go to a festival with a bunch of people I don't know, what a great idea. I promise you if I had a choice I wouldn't be here but Youtube is my career and if this can help me get more money and sponsors, I'll damn well do it.

"You saved me from having to talk to strangers I will forever love you." I stated finally letting go of Tyler

"well I swing for the other team so you might want to re-think that"

our banter continued until we got to the hotel room where we met Troye and continued the weird fun loving chats we had been having over Skype the night before hand. before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the fest.

I put on my usual leaving the house outfit, Jeans and a comfy shirt. opposed to the trackies and pj top I've been wearing for probably around 3 days now. after dressing and waiting for the boys to perfect their quiffs while I continued rocking my messy bun it was time to make our way to the convention. We hopped in the cab and the boys told the driver where to go because honestly I had no idea! after about 15 minutes we were leaving the cab, Tyler paid the cab driver and I swear I saw him give the guy a fifty dollar note for a $20 fee and let him keep the change... I wish someone would give me an extra $30.

As we walked into the convention there were many fangirls surrounding us calling out for Troye and Tyler but I heard not one person call my name. I expected no different but I did feel lonely being completely ignored by everyone.

I walked towards the drink stand it was too humid in here seriously have they heard of air conditioners? just as I was about to take a sip of my nice cold water I heard my name.

"Emily is that you? Oh my god I love your videos!" the voice said

I turned around to find a young girl, probably around 13 or 14 years old.

"hi, yes it's me, thank you so much I didnt think  anyone would know who i was" I sad all in one breath.

"can i get a picture?" the girl asked

"of course darl!" i replied taking the girls phone and taking a few selfies of us

"i took a few, i know selfies are sucky sometimes when you only take one."

"thank you!" the young girl ran off back into the crowed of people

I grabbed my water and started to walk in the direction of the green room, i'm pretty sure that would be where i would find Troye and Tyler if they had managed to make it through the swarm of fans yet that is.

I get to the green room and they werent there and i instantly felt uneasy, not only was i alone but one of my favourite youtubers was here . Connor Joel Franta!
