Zooming around in his shiny cruiser, the young blonde gazed up and down the busy street, adjusting his sunglasses. He checked his appearance in the mirror before parking in front of the new donut shop that just have happened to open right down the street from the station. Alfred's stomach grumbled as he thought of the delicious, freshly brewed coffee and delectable pastries that would be displayed in such a perfect manner. He of course, had not been inside the shop before, but his friend Arthur, a young gentleman with a British accent, had. So he was eager to go and take a peek.
The officer pushed his way through the swinging door that sang out with a quiet jingle as the bell rang. A young Japanese man stood at in front of the display case, tidying up the tiny little decorations that littered the top. He smiled politely at the new customer. "Ohayou gozaimasu, welcome."
Alfred's gaze caught the other's, his own breath catching slightly as he stared at the other through his dark shades. The boy was . . Too adorable. Opting for a better look, the American slid the lenses off his face, folding them neatly before sliding them into his pocket. Arthur never warned him about how cute the cashier was going to be! Remembering his manners, the blonde cleared his throat. "U-Um . . Good morning?" He wasn't sure what the other had said, but he still wanted to be polite.
"What can I get you?" The smaller one asked patiently, his small mouth lifting at the corners. Alfred couldn't help but stare at him, that expression of his was too adorable. Realizing that he was being rude by keeping the boy waiting, he quickly picked out two donuts at random. The young lad proceeded to slide the treats into a paper bag delicately, propping them up, onto the counter. "Would you like anything else?" He asked.
'His voice is very quiet but kind,' the American noted. "C-Coffee, please," he requested. The Japanese boy turned his back to the blonde, filling up a cup full of the freshly brewed beverage. He clicked the lid on before handing it to the officer. Alfred accidentally made contact with the other's hand, his own extremity shaking slightly out of nervousness. "I-I'm sorry!" He stammered. The smaller Asian's cheeks lit up as they did so, quickly pulling away. The taller American's cheeks lit up as well, quickly shoving his free hand into his pocket to pull out the money to pay.
The dark haired boy handed Alfred his change, trying not to make eye contact with the other, still visibly embarrassed. Mentally face palming himself, the young officer knew he had to break the tension somehow. "M-My name is Alfred, what about you?"
The Japanese lad glanced back at the blue eyed man's gaze, his own chocolate pupils wary but still warm. "I-I'm Kiku. Honda Kiku," he murmured. The taller man smiled at his response, causing the smaller one to blush momentarily, again.
'Man, he's so cute,' Alfred thought instantaneously. He grinned like an idiot, dropping his change into the tip jar. Kiku bowed his head politely at the gesture, standing there for a moment before going back to straightening the counter. The blonde took the donuts into his free hand, turning on his heel to head out. "I'll see you around, Keeks!" A quiet voice hesitated before answering,"Yes, I'll see you 'around', too."
'Keeks? I sound like a idiot!' Alfred thought as he squirmed in his seat, sipping the hot beverage in his left hand before eating both pastries with his right. He was glad that he hadn't embarrassed himself too much in front of that adorable boy, sighing in relief.
"But man, he was really cute," the American said out loud. After finishing his breakfast, the satisfied officer slipped his sunglasses back on, and headed back to the station.
