"I don't care, I'll do what I want!" She crossed her arms just as she always do when she doesn't listen to him. She thinks that if he leaves her behind, she will be nothing but a piece of his imagination. She insists on following him until the end.
"But baby, you know I can't do that. You have to stay here, in here you'll be safe. Just trust me on this, okay?" He takes her pale cold hands in his. He brings it to his lips and kissed it as if it was the most fragile thing that ever existed.
She wants to trust him but something's bothering her. It's like the sky is telling her to stay by his side, no matter what. She tightens her grip on his soft and warm hands. And, lets go of it only to touch his masculine cheek.
He feels suddenly warm and contented just by her hands. He doesn't like to leave her, but he has to. For her own safety and life. He will never forgive himself, if something bad happened to her. He leaned to her touch, and suddenly he feels something weird in his eyes.
Her eyes widens in surprise when she saw a tear rolling down in his cheek to her hand. She felt the sadness, the sorrow and the most heartbreaking part. She felt the love for her. Then, suddenly, she found herself crying also.
It was a heartbreaking scene. Anyone who ever saw it would never be able to stop crying. For who wouldn't? A man trying to be strong ends up being very weak, crying in the hands of the reason of his despair.
Until a sorrowful thing happened. A loud bang, not heard from afar but very close. Close enough to reach them. Close enough to hear them. Close enough for their dreams to be shattered, like a glass that was newly bought, wrecked by an evil spirit.
She stiffened and got very still. Her warm hands suddenly becomes cold, slowly laying down, like a swan when it glides on the water. She knew it was the end, but she never thought it would be so soon. Soon, enough to keep them apart.
He smiled, the one that always melt her heart. He knew she was his happy ending. He always knew that she was his and never to someone else. Slowly, but surely, he leaned down at her. But before he could touch her lips, she hugged him and let him feel, how much she loved him. Only him.
He hugged her like he never hugged anybody before, not even his own mother had he hugged like this before.
But, just like a tragedy. A Romeo and Juliet story. The fate of the Uninvited has taken place.
He felt something in her back, like water but so many, like an ocean just waiting to be freed from it's case. He saw it and gasps. He cringed at the word that his mind doesn't like to believe.
Blood. So many blood. It all makes sense now, about how she got so cold and her hands fluttering down to her sides. Hugging him so tight.
The loud bang was the key to his own tragedy story. He watched her head slowly tilting down his chest to the ground. He could feel his own eyes widening in shock and horror upon seeing her condition. Making him so weak and vulnerable.
He saw her eyes slowly closing but he still sees her undying love for him. Gently, he hugged her and slowly layed her down to the grassy ground, even though he knows he's so weak, he pulled his hands from her neck and puts his on her wrist to feel her pulse. Slowly getting so weak, disappearing.
He could see how his vision gets so blurry, because of his tears that were threatening to fall down from his eyes.
"--eal-l" she said it, at last. The name that she would call, until the last day of her breath. The man she fell inlove with.
His head jerked back to her beautiful face. With shaking hand, he reached her cheek, so cold, like a vampire. He could feel his wet teardrops sliding down his face.
"Jasmine, don't you dare" even with shaking body, he still managed to speak to her. He knew, she knew what he was saying. But, she only shook her head, or should he say, just a little flick.
His sobs were audible to her, he painfully hugged her like it was the last time he would see her. She could feel her hair soaking wet by his tears. But above all, she could feel the tightness and his love.
She tried to speak but ends up coughing blood. She really wants to tell him, how much she loves him. How much, she treasures him. She could feel her breath becoming shallow. Making her hard to breathe. Gasping for air, she tried very hard to lift her hand. To touch his warm cheek.
He felt her cold hands, he turns to her face. But can't see her clearly because of his eyes misted with tears.
"---eal-l, I-i l-l-love yo---u" finally, she said it. The words she was so desperate to tell him.
He cried even more. He couldn't accept the fact about what's happening. He hated her, for telling him her goodbyes.
"Baby, I-i l-love you t--oo, don't leave me. Please." He begged. Now it was getting hard to breathe. He had to stop crying or he can't save her.
For the last time, she smiled weakly at him before finally closing her eyes. Her last breath caught in the air. And the last time, she touched him.
The Uninvited was dead. The prophecy has been fulfilled.
The sun was starting to rise. But, still he wouldn't move. Until, the last drop of his tear fell down at her pale cheek. He bowed his head. He failed. He failed to save her. Now, he was going to pay the price.
