Chapter 00
“Hailey! Your wedding is in two months and you don’t even have a dress yet! ” Hastily, I ran around the apartment getting everything in order, as Hailey had napkin samples everywhere and the last of the invitations to hand out.
“Kasey, do you remember that amazing photographer from America I was talking to you about?” How could I not, she’d been going oh about him nearly more than she goes on about her fiancé. I just nodded as she went on.
“Apparently he’s on holidays to Australia for a few weeks and has agreed to do my wedding! How great is that Kase! What’s his name again, Tyler Hunter! ” Well that’s awesome, she has a photographer, sorted out but she doesn’t even have a dress!
“Hailey, what did I tell you, we need to go find you the perfect dress for the wedding of the year!” Though find the dress wouldn’t be so hard to find, since she would look drop dead in any dress out there, you would think all wedding dresses were made specifically for her.
Hailey and Jayden met a few years ago, a fairytale story, with a fairytale ending is what I would describe it. I would give anything to have something like that. But then again, I do have Zeke with me. We’ve been going out for a few months now, and honestly that’s one of the longest relationships I’ve ever had.
“Hey Hails, I’m going out with Zeke tonight, you have the place to yourself.” I smiled widely at her, knowing what was coming next.
“KASEY! Why are you still going out with that tool! He’s even worse than a washing machine. Just end it with him, and we’ll go find you a man that will treat you right and won’t bore during the best thrillers out there!” Hailey’s never been fond of any of my boyfriends, she’s always complained that either they’re too boring, too bad, too much of a perfectionist, she would have to find a flaw in every man until I find the ‘right’ one.
I just walked around the kitchen and to my room, preparing everything that needed for my night out. Zeke and I were supposed to have plans to have an early dinner and watch a movie. I will admit, Zeke isn’t the most exciting person or very boring ‘man’ that’s quite easy to push around.
As I put on a nice skirt and blouse, I peeped into the living area to see Hailey still looking at bridal magazines and talking on the phone to check and confirm arrangements. I heard a honk of a car, and I took that as my cue to leave.
Closing the door I skipped down the stairs and hopped into the car.
“Hey,” I breathe out a smile, while Zeke just looked ahead and kept on driving. “Where are we eating tonight?”
“Hey babe,” I shuddered at the endearment “I hope its okay? We’re just eating at a little Italian restaurant in the city. I hear its pretty nice” I prayed that what he said was true, as the last time he said a restaurant was pretty nice, we ended up at McDonalds. Sitting on a table near a birthday party to whom the birthday girl was turning five. Let’s just say that wasn’t the best dates I’ve been on ever.
Reaching to the little restaurant, I was surprised and felt a little excited as we were going to a nice place for one. The aroma was so calming and soothing. Sitting down at a table for two, I wondered what it would be like to go out with a Zeke that was more laid back and fun. Something I never imagined was possible.
After the surprisingly nice dinner and an average movie, I leaned over in the car and kissed him softly before stepping out of the car and saying my goodbyes. As I let myself into the apartment, I went straight to my room to avoid confrontation, more questions or hassles.
I didn’t bother changing and collapse into bed.
Waking up to the slam of the front door, I rubbed my eyes and tried to adapt to the glare of the sun.
I walked towards the mirror to look at my awful bed hair when I noticed something perched on my dressing table, a letter addressed to me. The handwritten script on the envelope that was written so horrible almost illegible could have only belonged to one person, and one person only.
As I opened the letter, I wondered how on earth could he have gotten my address and location after all these years, I found it impossible, unless he went to my mother which I honestly don’t see him going to. That woman was a scary, very protective mother that could not be swayed easily.
Opening the letter, there were only five words on the page. And the words said
“I’m coming for you. Soon”
A/N: I am aware that is is a bit short, but i just wanted to see if it was good enough, so i know where the direction would go. This is only a short beginning as i hope the rest will be long. I think i'm back, and determined to write.
