I've always been the geek of my school. Not like the weird ones, but like the pretty ones. I always loved to know more, about everything.

         My mom always jokes and say that if I keep going on like this I might be taken in and tested on. I always take it as a compliment, but sometimes I seems like she's worried. It seems like sometimes I think to much that I don't know what's going on around me sometimes.
         

             'Pssst psssssst'. "Ruby wake up, wake up Ruby."
       
             It was so dark I couldn't see anything then the lights were on and it was little brother and my sister. My brother (Christian ) 9 years old, my sister(Christia) is 4.

          'what do you guys want didn't you see I was having a good dream.' Then I laid back in bed taking the blanket over my head, and a split second later my covers were off. I groaned it was cold and I wanted my blanket back. So I sat up, "I'm not talking to you guys why did you do that for."

             I went to the bathroom to wash my face and fully wake up, then I brushed my teeth and headed downstairs to make breakfast.

As I was walking I stopped at the voice of my mom speaking to someone. I at two voices one sounded familiar and the other I've never heard before. I peeked at the thought it might of been my dad, and if it was he had a lot of explaining to do.

               My dad left on my little brothers birthday he said that he would be right back and then we go gift shopping for my little brother. But he never showed up my mom always made some type of story for why my dad was gone. Even though she was heart broken.

          "We need Ruby and if you do not want use to take Ruby we will take your son" I walked down suddenly a wave a fright hit me when I got to the bottom of the steps. "Mom what's going on? Is the something I need to know?"

          The man looked at me in awe like he was surprised to see me. But then all to quickly he cleared his throat and started speaking. "Ruby this is nothing bad, but we need you for a stimulation and I was trying to tell your mom that it would take about a week but she doesn't seem to want to give you up for even a day."

        I turned and faced my mom then back at the man "what is the "stimulation" for anyways?"

      He seemed a little thrown off by my aditude but didn't address it. "This stimulation is to test reflexes and how willing you are."

      "Then why does it need to take a week then?" I stood there and crossed my arms over my chest and started tapping it on the carpet floor.

        "It takes a week because we want to see how long you would last you are not the only one by the way there is about 800 more people coming and they will be tested to." He paused for a minute thinking whether or not he should say the next part, but he started again. "If you are one of the hundred people who are picked you will report to a location to train after school and return to you family at night. If you are not then you will come back to your family, but you will be under surveillance. So you good?"

        I looked at my mom she was sitting by the dinner table. "When do I have to go?" I asked and turned to look at the man hovering over me. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. So he turned his back to me and said "30 minutes."

       I turned and walked towards the stairs to speak with my siblings, and as soon as I opened my door Christia jumped on me. "What did the man say?" And Christian as if he already knew what I was thinking pulled my sister back and sat her down on the bed and told her to wait.

      I looked straight into Christians eyes and started " Hey Chris I need you to do me a favor okay?"
"What is it?"
"I need you to take care of mommy and Christia because some man is taking me for a week to do something so take care of mom and her." As I pointed to my sister. "I will be back in a week Okay and when I come back I owe you one okay?"
"Why are you leaving though?"
"I honestly don't know but I promise I will be back"
"Okay"
I got my bag I got from Sapphire and texted her told her. Then I went down stairs kissed my mom's forehead and walked out the house. I turned to the guy and I said " Hey did you know I never got your name, so what is it." He looked at me kind of shocked that I was asking that question now.
"My name is Jay and I am 27 by the way."
"Oh, cool."
We got in the car and then the seat belt just buckled on me. I knew this was going to be a long ride to our destination.

Hey guys sorry that. Update yesterday but I finally did and Jay is going to come up a couple times. So yeah that's officially chapter one and I'm glad I got to finish it lol yeah thanks for reading love you guys see you later.
