It was Friday evening, I was on the library doing research for an essay that was due for next Thursday when my phone started to vibrate on the table and I smiled when I saw your name on my caller id.
I ran into the restroom with my phone on my hand as fast as I could so we could talk without the worry of the librarian "kindly" asking me to be quiet.
Once inside, I accepted the call while catching my breath, a big goofy smile planted on my face and my heart shaking of happiness.
God Isco, you made me feel like I was 15 all over again.
I said hello and you greeted back with a nervous laugh and it confused me as you were the most confident person I knew, but I brushed it off.
You told me you were on your way home after training and I scoled you for driving and talking on your phone at the same time. You said that whatever you wanted to say couldn't wait, so I asked what was so important it couldnt wait.not fully understanding what could be more important than looking out for not getting in an car accident.
"Go out on a date with me tonight" you said so quickly I almost didn't understood, but I did.
My heart was beating loud against my chest I could swear you could hear it on your end. I wanted to scream of happiness on the library restroom, you wanted to go out on a date with me. Me. Of all the girls you could take on a date you wanted to take me on a date.
I said yes before you changed your mind and I could hear your smile over the phone.
Dear Isco, that was the best first date I ever had.
