Boom tap. Boom tap tap. Boom tap. Boom tap tap. I tap my boot to match the vibrations of the old, rickety school bus. I can hear the quiet sound of water dripping down the center aisle from the melting snow. The silent chatter continues, raising up to bounce off of the frosted windows. Slipping on my purple and mint green striped headphones, I settle back and allow myself to succumb to the soulful voices interlacing in a beautiful complicated melody of saxophone and bass. I close my eyes and little balls of light dance of my eyelids; creating the most amusing of simplistic views. Tracing the patterns carved onto the rough leather bus seat, I smile. Every school morning.
