Goodnight Moon

54 7 4

What hope is there in a disheveled night sky
That freezes under your touch
No hope in the way it circles around you
Engulfing you in a rage

What wishes are there in a sparking dim sky
That sighs around your voice
No wishes in the way it silences my tongue
Leaving me breathless and awake

What life is there in a lightless day
That damns us all to death
No life in the way it pulls us down
Dragging us farther and farther

What dreams are there in a single lit sky
That glows in your eyes
No dreams in the way it shines only above you
Shadowing us all away

What laughs are there in a disjointed starry sky
That clogs our breathing lungs
No laughs in the way it leaves you voiced
Hushing us all to silence

What love is there in the moon lit sky
That darkens an evergreen's leaves
No love in the way it steals you from me
Breaking the heart you built
