"Hurry sweetie! You don't want to be late for your first day of High School!" My Mom yelled up the stairs. So not ready for this, I've never really been much of a "cool" kid. Even in Grade School, I'm pretty sure High School will be worse, much worse. "Samuel!!!!" My Mom yelled breaking into my thoughts. "I'm coming Mom!" I came downstairs to the smell of bacon and eggs and my Dad planted on a chair at the dining room tabel, newspaper in one hand, cup of coffee in the other. "Ah my boy, first day of the best four years of your life. How do you feel?" My Dad asked. "Great!" I lied, and i'm pretty sure he read my nervous expression, but didn't want to say anything to make my Mother worry about me. "I think you'll make plenty of friends, tell me all about it when I get home from work okay?" With that he walked over to my Mother and kissed her on the cheek. Then he came over to me and gave me a pat on the back, grabbed his briefcase and headed out the door to work. its 7:00, I should hurry with breakfast, put my shoes on, grab my backpack and go to what may be the worst day of my life. "Do you need a ride?" My Mom said wiping her hands on her apron. "No thanks Mom, I'll walk." I gave her a hug and walked 2 blocks to my new school. And when I opened the double doors, all eyes were on me.
