*14 years later*
"Come Ryan, just a little bit more," I yell as we run on the treadmill. "Mom!" She screams. We been on it for about an hour. "Ok, 3,2,1!" Our trainer yells. I look at the time. "6:30, we will lift for 15 minutes then we will leave," I tell Ryan. She nods. Once we are done, she falls asleep in the car. She looks just like me, except she has blonde hair and dark greens eyes. She played soccer and hockey. Right now it's hockey season. "Mom, I got hockey practice at 3:00," she says. "Okay, you tired?" I laugh. "YES!" She laughs. My phone buzzes. "Can you see who that's from?" I ask Ryan. "Um someone named Alex," she says. "Okay," I say in shock. We haven't talked since I moved to North Dakota. We get to our house then Ryan falls asleep on the couch. I open the text and it says, I'm coming to North Dakota to see you! I have a kid who is 13, his name is Josh. Servando and I had a kid right after you moved. I hope you still live in Fargo! I get in today. Please text me back I miss you so much!
I was in shock. I walk to my room and crawl into bed with Luke. "Alex is coming to North Dakota," I mumble. "Let's talk about it in 5 hours, I'm tired," he says. "You didn't work out for 2 hours," I say sleepy.
It was 7 when I woke up. I hear Ryan in the living room. "Ryan, what are you doing up so early?" I ask. "House is on," she says. I laugh then I hear a knock on the door. I open to see Alex. "Tobin," she says then hugs me. I felt that apart I felt 15 years ago. "This is Josh," she says. A tall boy who has black hair and very tan. "Hi," he smiles. They walk in, "mom, who is it," Ryan says with a mouth full of leftover pizza. She looks over and her hair is in a messy bun with her glasses on, she was still in her workout cloths. Well sweatpants and a sports bra. Her eyes were wide open we she says Josh. "Shit, I mean shoot, mom you didn't tell me we had company," she says. The Luke walks in. "Hey babe," Luke says then wraps his arm around my waist then kisses my neck. "When did you two?" Alex asks. "We got married 10 years ago," Luke says with a smile. Alex had a sad look on her face. "Ryan um you should go change," I say still in shock. She hurries into her room then comes back out with jeans and a UNC sweatshirt on. "Dad come to the rink with me?" Ryan asks him. "Sure lets go!" He says back. "Hey Josh wanna come?" Ryan asks him. He nods and they leave. "Tobin I missed you so much!" Alex says. Last time I say Alex is when I had Ryan. That's 14 years ago, last week.
