"We talk too much." said Matt with a slight chuckle. Rose had met Matt online over a year ago, & they had become best friends the very first time they ever talked. She laughed in response "Yeah, I guess we do. It doesn't really help that we're both a couple of night owls". She never minded talking to him for so long, though. They had so many similarities & he seemed to be one of the few people who really liked her for her. She never really knew why she seemed so different from everyone else. It was just one of those things where she just KNEW there was something different about her. But, then again, maybe a lot of people felt that way & she was just wanted to be different.

Rose was laying on her bed talking with Matt, as she did every night, but, she didn't mind. She actually loved talking to him, more than anything. It was the very thing she looked forward to every single day, and yet, she had never even met him.  "Hey, Matt?" she asked "Yes?" "I've got to go to sleep now. I still have school. . . Well, today, seeing as how it's already one in the morning." she wished that she didn't have to go, but, she couldn't afford to fall asleep in her classes again. "Alright then, I guess I'll just talk to you tomorrow?" he asked, not seeming too happy about saying goodbye either. "Most definitely!" she said reassuringly. "Okay, great! Goodnight! Goodnight! Parting is such sweet sorrow!" he joked. Rose laughed a bit & smirked as he replied "So I shall say goodnight, 'til it be 'morrow!" then they hung up. Rose let out a deep sigh, laying sprawled out on her bed, she stared up at the ceiling. She already missed the sound of Matt's voice. Trying to push him out of her head long enough to fall asleep, Rose put her phone on its charger & crawled under the sheets, turning off the lights & closed her eyes. Most nights she had trouble falling asleep, starring into the darkness or the back of her eye-lids until she slipped into sleep, but, tonight seemed different. Tonight she fell into sleep with no trouble at all.

Rose awoke to the obnoxious, loud, beeping of her alarm. She got up & headded to the bathroom & began her morning process. She brushed her teeth & combed her hair. After getting dressed & putting on here eye make-up, she examined herself in the mirror. She felt she hadd a pretty good body for an 18 year old: a voluptuos form with above-average sized breasts , a curved in waist, a rounded behind and she had what was called "child bearing hips". She wasn't skinny, but, she was pretty pleased with her appearance. She stood at 5'9" & her hair was a perfect combination of brown & red, to wear it looked like a very deep red that made her green-blue eyes pop from beneath her lashes. Her pouty lips were soft & pink, but, her skin tone was one thing she wished she could change a bit. She had very fair, Irish skin that was pale & fair, but, she wished she could get SOME kind of color to her. When she was done analyzing her appearance, she grabbed her backpack & headed out the door to her bus stop. She wasn't fond of the school she went to, but, it was her senior year & at least she had Tina. Tina had been Rose's frind since Kindergarten & they never kept secrets from eachother & they would always remain so.

She stepped off of her bus & onto the bus loop in front of the school. She looked around & instantly spotted Tina's bright blue bangs, she was sitting on a ledge of a low brick wall near some plants the school put around to make the place seem nicer than it really is. Tina spotted Rose as she was walking up & smiled "Hey you!" she greeted her "How are you & the boy toy?" she smirked mischeviously. Rose tilted her head & listed an eyebrow "Boy toy?" she asked questioningly. Tina rolled her eyes "Yeah, the boy toy? Matt!?" she said, a bit exasperated at her slow response. "Oh!" Rose explaimed, tilting her head back a bit "He's not my "boy toy", Tina. He's just a friend & you know that!" she said as she started walking towards the school as the bell to let school in rang. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." Tina smiled & followed Rose to the lockers.

All day Rose thought about Matt. She had done so well at not thinking about him this morning until Tina started teasing her. Now her head was just filled with his voice & charming laugh. Good night! Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow! she thought of his jocular mood last night & it made her smile. She liked hearing him laugh & constantly found herself wondering if his smile was as wonderful as his laugh. Actually, she found herself wondering what he looked like in general. She had, unfortunately, never seen his face or a picture or anything. She realized the total obvious red flags of the situation & knew nobody else would approve. Only Tina really knew about Matt in the first place & she knew that Rose had never seen his face, but, Tina was kind of a hopeless romantic herself.  She was startled out of her thoughts by the school bell going off, signifying the end of the school day "Finally!" she thought to herself as she rushed out of her classroom to the bus.

As soon as her feet had walked off of the bus & touched the ground, Rose had her cell phone out & to her ear, listening to the ring, waiting with bated breath for him to pick up. "Hey!" she heard him greet from the other side, the familiar tone of happiness in his voice "How was school today?" he asked, sounding a bit rushed & out of breath, this concerned her slightly. "It was fine. And how was your day?" she inquired, but there was a moment of silence, & then he spoke again "Look, Rose, I'm sorry. Can we talk some other time? I'm getting ready for a trip & I can't talk right now..". This was new, he was never so rushed before, he was always so laid back & cool. It made her wonder what had him in such a hurry. "Uh, okay, talk to you soon, then?" she wondered the question aloud, wondering if they really would. She couldn't help but notice her own sadness behind the words. "A lot sooner than you think... Goodbye, Rose." and he hung up. She stood on the sidewalk & stared down at her phone for a moment, bewilderd. "A lot sooner than you think..." what did THAT mean? If he was in such a hurry how could he talk to her really soon? After she got her shower & put on some pajamas, she layed on her bed & stared up at the ceiling, his words kept running through her head. She couldn't shake that there was some meaning behind them that she wasn't getting. The words kept running through her head, even as she fell into a deep sleep.
