Rose awoke, it was pitch black in her room except for the red numbers glowing from her clock that read 3:15am. Rose sat up in her bed, slowly, & looked around. She felt the uneasy sense of being watched. When she saw no one, she layed back down & tried to sleep. It was a Saturday & she never had anything to do on the weekends besides talk to Matt, but, with how he sounded last time, she didn't want to bug him. She had decided that she would just wait for him to contact her when it was convenient for him. She closed her eyes & slowly fell asleep, not a single dream rising from the depths of her mind. Only vast blackness & deep void of sleep.

She awoke again when a beam of sunlight shone throough her window & onto her face. She looked at her clock, which read 1:56pm. She figured it had to be some time in the afternoon when she heard a football game coming from the tv in her living room. She had never been a fan of football, but, the rest of her family certainly was. Her first thought was to call Matt, but, she knew he'd probably be busy or on a plane where he couldn't talk. He had said he was getting ready to go on a trip. . . She wondered where. She began thinking of his words again, which led her to think about the weird feeling she felt last night. She looked around the room again, not feeling it anymore. She picked up her phone & dialed Tina to see if she wanted to go hang out at the mall or something.

She met up with Tina a couple of hours later at the mall. They walked through the stores, bought some clothes & CDs, then made their way to the food court where they grabbed some chinese & sat at a table where Rose explained the happenings of yesterday afternoon & last night. "That's odd..." Tina said before taking a sip of her drink, a look on her face that told Rose she was contimplating something. "I know" said Rose "He didn't even tell me where he was going or anything, just that he was getting ready for a trip." "No, no not that.." continued Tina "I'm talking about YOU waking up in the middle of the night. You sleep like a rock. World War III could be going on right outside your window & you'd still be- HEY!" she exclaimed as Rose threw a carrot from her chinese at her "I'm just saying!" she said as she threw the carrot back at Rose. Rose knew she was a heavy sleeper, & she knew that that was a big factor in the weirdness of how she woke up for no real reason in the middle of the night. It usually took her loud alarm clock or someone shaking her awake in order to get her up. "Are you alright?" Tina asked, a hint of concern in her voice. Rose looked up & realized she had been staring off into space again "Yeah!" she said "I'm fine, sorry, just got lost in some thought." she took a bite of her lo mein & Tina raised an eyebrow at her "Alright," she said "If you say so."

Rose got home around 6pm & went up to her room, putting away her new clothes & putting her new CDs with her slowly growing collection. After that, she grabbed her towl & headed to the bathroom taking a nice, hot, shower. Enjoying the warmth, she leaned against the wall & just let the water fall on her. It had been a good day, & she hadn't hung out with Tina, outside of school, for a long while now. It was good to be able to just relax with her friend & hang out. It really helped to get her mind off of things for a little bit. But now they all came fludding back to her. Her mind buzzed with questions about where he might be, what he was doing, who he was with, why he was there. . . Her mind just buzzed & buzzed. . . And buzzed.

Rose bolted upright in her bed & looked around. She had fallen asleep. . . But she couldn't remember when or how. She looked to her clock, only a couple of hours had gone by. A  small chill went down her spine & she realized she had fallen asleep in her wet towel. She grabbed her phone & walked to her dresser to grab some pajamas, after putting on a shirt & a pair of gym shorts, she pushed a button on her phone to see if she had anything & she saw she had 1 missed called. She opened her call list, thinking it was Tina calling to make more plans. When she saw who had called her she felt her heart skip a beat, her jaw drop & her eyes widen, it was Matt! She immediately pushed the green button to call him back... And froze as she heard a phone going off... From inside of her closet.
