The Daughter

Chapter 8

Liv's P.O.V.
   "Hey babe." he says
   "Uh, hello." I say unsure of my answer. I walk over to the tanning chair, ignoring the boys, and deciding to work on my tan. The sun beat down on me as I made my way to the chair. I layed my towel and flip flops on the ground, then pull on my sunglasses.
    "So, why are you staying here?" a boy asks trying to start a conversation.
    "My dad works for a band and i'm staying on tour with them." I explain.
    "Which band?" he asks.
   "You know, you ask a lot of questions. Yet, I dont recall you telling me your name." I counter.
     "My name is Josh." he answers.
    "Thats a nice name." I reply laying on my stomach so I can get an even tan.
    "Whats your name?" he asks
    "Olivia." I reply
    "Thats a nice name." he mimicks me. This conversation drew on forever and at some point I just decided to start swimming. I stand up moving to the pool, leaving my belongings on the chair. I hear a whistle just as I get in the pool. I roll my eyes. Boys will be boys.

After exchanging numbers with everyone in the pool, I was alloud to leave and go back to my room. I didnt realize how late it had gotten. I look at my phone to see the time 9:00 pm. Wow. And I have 13 missed calls along with 20 unread messages... Uh oh!

I come out of my room only to be greeted by my father.
     "Where were you?" he asks
    "You know where I was, I was in the pool." I say
     "All day?" he asks
    "Yeah, I lost track of time. I was hanging out with some guys that are staying in the hotel, we just kept talking, I guess." I explain shrugging.
     "Who are these guys?" he asks the vain in his neck popping out a little, warning me to choose my words carefully.
    "Dad, its fine. They were just some guys playing in the pool when I got up there. They're harmless I promise." I say trying to convinse him. He pulls that unconvinced look and I know its time to pull out the puppy dog eyes.
     "Fine, but next time xome back before seven, please?" he pleades.
    "Okay. Dad do you think I will be able to go shopping sometime?" I ask trying to change the subject.
     "We will talk about it tomarrow, i'm tired." he shakes his head and walks over to his room. I walk down the hall to Liam's room to find some company. Shortly after nocking the door opens.
    "Hey Liv. What are ya doing over here?" He asks
     "Sorry, just got back from the pool and decided to come bug you, you mind?" I ask.
      "No, not at all. Would you like some popcorn?" he asks.
     "No I dont care for popcorn, thanks." I reply starting to feel the tension.
     "What's going on between you, Harry, and Louis?" he asks bluntly.
     "Uh..." I dont really know what to say.
     "Sorry for being so blunt, I just don't want to have to pick up your guys' mess, when it all falls apart. Plus, I would love the option to win you over as well." he says smirking. The first part of what he said really hurt, but I do know that what he just said was the truth. And I have to deal with the situation I put myself in.
