It is the girls birthday and she is now 12. She hears a knock at the door. For the first time since her 6th birthday she had a little hope that someone cared about her this year. Someone came to celebrate with her.
Her father goes to the door and he opens it slowly. Three guys in black and white suits stand in the small doorway. One looks at her and the other two look at her father. They ask to come in and they say that they are child services.
Her father says yes. The two guys question dad and the little girl.
"are you being abused?"
"everyday, why?"
"We are taking you away from your dad."
"Why?"
"He abuses you and your mom."
The girl starts to tear at the thought of her mom.
"What is wrong, where is your mom?"
"In the backyard."
"We are going to go talk to her."
"She is dead!! Dad killed her with a shovel and then buried her in the backyard when I was 8!"
