Here's what I wish happened when we ended the school year.....

I look around.
Everyone seems to have finished eating and are just sitting and chatting with their friends.
"What are you planning, Fern??" asks Reed, leading to Juniper, Moss, Aspen, Cedar and Leif giving me quizzical looks.
"We've got five more minutes, right??" I ask.
Aspen looks into her watch and says, "Yes" doubtfully.
"What can you do in five minutes, Fern??" asks Juniper.
"Wait and watch!!" I reply with a smile.
Moss asks if a video needs to be taken.
I nod in reply.
"Wait, is this musical??" Cedar asks hopefully.
"Yup!!" I say, popping the damn 'p' *
Leif also takes out his phone.
"Shall we start??" I ask Moss, who nods in reply.
I look around the cafeteria.
Everyone's finished eating.
I bang the table twice and clap once.
And repeat.
I keep up this rhythm.
Our entire table joins in and, soon, everyone in the cafeteria.
Bang Bang Clap.
Bang Bang Clap.
Bang Bang Clap.
We keep this up for a minute and then I climb on to our table and start singing, leading some people to gasp.

Everybody joins in.

Alright!!
That's it!!"
Everyone erupts into applause.
I take a bow and jump off the table.
"And that's how you end the school year!!" I say.
Reed rolls his eyes and Juniper and Moss are laughing their heads off now.
Cedar and Leif high-five each other and me, while Aspen is applauding.
We walk out of the cafeteria, where hoots and cheers are still heard....
