"FIVE... FOUR... THREE... TWO... ONE!" a massive crowd counted down scattered in London. The Big Ben clock made a noise along with the fireworks and the screaming people. Different year, same bullshit.

Everyone was kissing in front of me now.

I felt two cold hands on my face and before I realised it, Cassie's lips crashed mine. It was only natural that I kissed her back, she was my fiancée, but I couldn't help but feel guilty. I felt like I was cheating on Ashlyn even though she wasn't my wife. I should be feeling guilty because I was thinking about another woman instead of my finacée. I felt her smile against my lips before pulling away and staring at me with bright eyes.

"Happy new year, baby," she whispered with a smile.

"Happy new year, Cassie," I said forcing a smile. She didn't seem to realise that my smile was fake. She grabbed my hand and intertwined it with hers' before placing it in my coat pocket. Leaning down on my shoulder, she stared at the fireworks.

Cassie and I will be celebrating new year by ourselves. Her family flew back to Seattle where they lived for three years. I was meant to celebrate New Year with my parents and Shelby like normally but Cassie had asked me persistently to celebrate it with her. Of course I couldn't say no, I didn't want her to be alone - she's my fiancée. I asked her to celebrate New Year with my family and I but she never really liked celebrating with my family without her family. She thought it was boring. Of course she never told me that straight up but it was pretty obvious.

My parents like Cassie a lot though so they let me celebrate New Year with her. "She's your fiancée, honey," mom had said to me a couple of nights before the first of January.

"I'm cold," she whispered which meant she wanted me to take her home.

The car ride was a little quiet. The fireworks added background noise and the radio was constantly being flicked by Cassie. Minutes after that, we were already in front of my apartment.

Cassie leaned closer to me for a kiss before I could even open my apartment door. She was kissing me passionately while I fumbled with my keys in my pocket. Opening the apartment door without breaking the kiss, I thought how Ashlyn was celebrating her New Year. Last year she spent New Year with us since the only parent she had which was her father died and she did not have anyone left. I could still remember that day I let her cry on my shoulder. We hugged all night until she was out of tears. I could still remember how she still looked beautiful even with her puffy red eyes. She was shattered and it broke my heart. All I could do was stay with her which I did not mind. In fact, I was happy to be the one right beside her.

I was snapped from my thoughts when I felt Cassie's lips leave mine. She then went down to my jaw then my neck while she took my coat off.

Clothing were being thrown all over the place now until we both only had our underwear on. She lead me to the sofa trailing kisses from my neck to my stomach. I massaged her back before unclasping her bra and getting rid of it. She smiled at me before crashing our lips together again, she kissed me hungrily and all I could do was return the passion.

"Let's go upstairs," she whispered panting.

We both stood up and I carried her with her legs wrapped around my waist as we kiss each other deeply. Without breaking the kiss, I laid her down my bed. She took off my boxers before taking her thongs eagerly. She never really liked taking things slow.

In seconds, I was already inside her making her moan and pant. "Carter, I love you," she moaned. I felt my heart drop. This was wrong. This was completely and utterly wrong.

We were both under the sheets now, she was sleeping while breathing heavily her head was against my chest. Our arms were both wrapped around each other.
