Karmen

I opened my front door to reveal a tired looking Justin, he was carrying a fairly large suitcase by his side, which confused me.

"Are you okay?" I asked as he walked into the house. He sighed and turned around to face me.

"Can I stay here for a little while? Just 'til I figure out where the hell in supposed to live." He said and ran a hand through his platinum blonde hair after placing the suitcase on the floor.

"What?-I mean, uh, sure." I smiled reassuringly and he nodded.

For a few seconds an awkward silence fell between us, then unexpectedly Justin walked over to me and grabbed my face, colliding his lips into mine. I was a little shocked at first but didn't hesitate to kiss him back.

As we broke apart Justin smiled at me. A true genuine smile, which made my heart melt. I grabbed his waist and pulled him into a warm hug, breathing in his masculine scent.

"It'll be okay, I promise you Justin." I said softly as he nuzzled his face into my shoulder.

I lay in bed just staring at the ceiling above me. I sighed. I hadn't even gotten a call from my mum or dad not even once. They would be back in a few days and honestly I was dreading it. I knew they wouldn't except me dating an older guy.

That's just the way they were. Stubborn. They forced me to do everything that they couldn't be bothered to do. Sometimes they could be kind and thoughtful towards me, but other times they would just act as if I were a piece of shit. I just wanted parents who actually cared for me, someone to hug me and tell me everything's going to be okay.

A single tear started to slip down my cheek but a big thumb wiped it away. Justin crawled into my bed beside me and I cuddled up next to him.

"You want to talk about it?" He whispered, I smiled slightly and just shook my head.

"It's nothing." I replied quietly.

"I lo-uh, I was thinking," was he just about to say I love you? "Do you want to do something tomorrow?" He coughed uncomfortably, making me giggle slightly.

"Can we go to the zoo?" I asked childishly. "The zoo was always my favourite place to go when I was little, my grandma would always take me, but when she died..." I let out a sniffle and Justin held me closer to him, like he was protecting me. "I would always ask my parents to take me, but they always made an excuse like they had no time, or they had work to do. No one in my family cared for me as much as my grandma did, there isn't a day when I don't miss her." I allowed warm tears to fall down my face as I held onto Justin like he was the last person I had.

"I love my family, if anything were to happen to them. It would ruin my life. I care for them so much, even in the times they don't care for me." I rambled, a few drops of salty water still falling from my brown eyes.

"Of course we can go to the zoo baby, anything for you." Justin said as he fiddled with my hair whilst I lay my head on his tattoo-filled chest.

I felt something for him, and I knew it wasn't just a silly crush anymore, it was something bigger, something that I didn't want to admit to myself.
