The fork that I was holding clattered loudly onto the ground.
I leaned over and picked it back up.
"Emily, don't worry about it, just finish up your breakfast," Mom tried to console me, but I didn't even want to listen to her.
I didn't know if I could ever trust her again.
"I don't want my stupid eggs! I just want to know if what you're telling is true!" I shouted at Mom.
I looked down at my plate and then started poking my happy, smiling eggs brutally until the yolk ran in streams. Stupid stupid eggs, stupid stupid mom, stupid lies, stupid stupid stupid life!
She hesitated, but then spoke,
"Yes, yes its true dear. You have a brother and a father who are alive and living. Your dad wants to see you... it's been fifteen years now and he wants you to live with him."
"And why have I never been told that I have a brother? And all my life, you told me my father was dead. DEAD. But he was alive all this freakin' time! What else are you lying to me about!?" I screamed until my throat hurt. I burst into tears and drat, my make-up was ruined, but heck, I had more important things to worry about.
"...Emily, honey,.....I'm sorry. Really, I would have told you before, but I didn't know if you could handle it so well when you were younger... I waited until I thought you were old enough to understand..."
"Do you think I'm handling it well now???" She looked at me all sad and I could see she was really sorry, there was that hurt in her eyes...she was probably taking this as bad as I was.
"...eat your eggs..."
"That's all you can say to me. After you've lied to me for 15 years. All you can say is eat your eggs???" Man was I mad, well, I was actually more than mad...way more
Awkward silence....
I broke the silence by screaming out my lungs,
"I DON'T WANT TO EAT MY EGGS!!!! #%!#$!!!!!"
Mom didn't react how I thought she would...
Instead of yelling at me for my swearing and bad language, she just said:
"Well, I'm glad that's over with. They're coming over today you know. Your brother and your father..."
